Sally Tucker Babcock Jan. 3, 1949 July 25, 2009 Sally T. Babcock, 60, passed away July 25, 2009 in her home in St. Charles, Mo. surrounded by family. She was born Jan. 3, 1949, in Marion, to Dr. Robert A. and Mary Jane (Metzger) Babcock. Sally graduated from Marion High School, attended Indiana University and graduated from Purdue University in 1972. She taught English for four years at Twin Lakes High School in Monticello. She then worked in St. Louis, MO in word processing sales and training for Lanier Business Products, Inc. and Mallinckroat, Inc. While working at Datapoint, Inc, in networking and computer systems, she won the national "1983 Rookie of the Year" award, President's Club and "Branch Sales Person" awards from 1982-1985. Sally also worked with Mid-America Systems, Inc., in marketing, sales and as general manager of Gateway Cleaners, Inc. Her great love involved Airedale Rescue, where she worked tirelessly to raise money and rescue animals. She was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church and Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority. Survivors include Ronald Bell, friend and business partner of 27 years, St. Louis, Mo.; mother, Mary Jane Babcock, Marion; brother, Robert (Carol) Babcock, Jerome, Mich.; sister, Lee Ann (Kenneth J.) Brown, Muncie; aunt, Louise Personette, Marion; and her beloved Airedales, Aireabella and Dudley. Sally was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Robert A. Babcock; and maternal and paternal grandparents. Services are at 10 a.m. Friday July 31, 2009 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion with the Rev. Justin Schlesinger-Devin officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 30 in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society , 1755 Abbey Road, East Lansing, MI 48823 or American Diabetes Association, PO Box 13067, Alexandria, VA 22312.
