Prior to her illness, she was employed by Concerned Parents for Head Start, Paterson, NJ as a Social Worker where she enjoyed helping the "little" residents of Paterson. She then became a member f Philmon Baptist Church under the leadership of her cousin, Rev. Joseph Calhoun, where she and her four sisters sang for the Lord in a group called The Mills Sisters. Before becoming ill, she joined the Gods Property Church under the leadership of Pastor L. Harley. Marie was a caring and compassionate person. She touched many lives by reaching out to lend a helping hand. Her door was always open to family and friends. Marie was easy-going and loved not only by her own children, but all children big and small. She was also a friend to many. When she made a friend, you were friends for life.
