Through struggles in her early life, Mary Alice found strength, character and courage that helped her in her everyday life and her dealings with others. She developed the philosophy of "Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead." Mary Alice unknowingly became a great testimony to her faith. She always had an open door policy, never meeting a stranger, and everyone was welcome. She was always looking for ways to better herself and encouraged others to better themselves. Mary Alice had a love for genealogy. She was past president of the Amarillo Ladies Credit Association, a member of DAR and a member of St. Timothy Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Royal Reeves; parents, Kenneth and Zella Cox; and brother, Glenn Rue Cox.
