Joan Lahey Mount, 80, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born in Oak Park , IL, attended National College of Education in Evanston, IL. She was a charter member of St. Henry Catholic Church, a volunteer for the Red Cross, Right to Life, St. Joseph Hospital and was the Refugee Liaison for Catholic Charities for many years. She enjoyed sewing, arts,crafts, ceramics, playing the piano and all animals especially her dog. Her favorite saying was "I Love People." Surviving are husband, Gene Mount, Sr. of Fort Wayne; children, Gene Jr. of Ft Lauderdale, FL, Kathleen M. Mount Clem of Fort Wayne, Michael (Sharla) of Jacksonville, NC, Alice A. (Terry) Koczor, Mary (Randy) Sroufe, Robert (Marilyn), Jerry (Cami), Patrick, Maureen (Louie) Mespell, Jim, Lien Ritchie, Tony Q. (Mai) Tam, Truong Toung Tin, all of Fort Wayne; 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Carol Peet of Silver Springs, MD; sister-in-law, Kay Lahey. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph J. & Georgiana Lahey, daughter, Margaret Helen Mount, granddaughter, Angela Marie Sroufe, brothers, James and David Lahey, son-in-law, Steve Clem. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 am, Monday, March 26, 2012 at St. Henry Catholic Church, 2929 E. Paulding Rd. with calling 1 hour prior. Calling also 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 pm Sunday with rosary at 4:30pm, at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
