Phillip "Phil" Nelson, age 74 of Chisago City, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 30, 2012. Phil loved the Jesus and wanted others to know him. He worked in maintenance at NWA for 36 years. He enjoyed being active, working on cars, traveling to Maui, but most importantly he loved his family and looked forward to any opportunity to spend time with his wife, children, grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Alno Nelson; sister, Barbara Palmberg; brother-in-law, Galen Palmberg. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Sonny; daughters, Jill (Mike) Cleary, Jackie (David) Hyjek; grandchildren, Joshua, Luke, Grace, Olivia, Eliza, Hannah. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 6, 2012 at Lakes Free Church, 29620 Olinda Trail, Lindstrom. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake; continuing one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Amery Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the family.
