Pauline M. Matuszek

SOUTH HADLEY – Pauline M. Matuszek died peacefully in her 93rd year on April 2, 2012 at the Loomis Nursing home in Holyoke. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Stanley J. Matuszek in 1995. Pauline was born in Holyoke on June 29, 1918; the daughter of Martha V. Zerek. She is predeceased by her sisters Mary Brach and Frances Suleski. She leaves her daughters Martha Jendrysik and her husband Ronald of Chicopee, MA, Sr. Elizabeth Matuszek of Springfield, MA a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph and Irene T. Czerwiec and her husband, Stanley of South Hadley. She is survived by four grandchildren, Paula Lamarre and her husband, Leonard of Chicopee, MA, Ronald Jendrysik and his wife Lyn of Millbury, MA, Keith Czerwiec and his fiancé Amy Patt of Holyoke, MA and Daniel Czerwiec and his wife, Kathy of Feeding Hills, MA. She is survived by seven great-grandchildren and several nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grandnieces. Pauline worked as a sheeter for the former James River Graphics in South Hadley, MA. Pauline was a lifelong member of Mater Dolorosa Church, now known as Our Lady of The Cross in Holyoke. Pauline was active in the church and was the President of the Rosary Society for over 30 years, Eucharistic Minister to the home bound, member of the King of Glory Prayer Group. She was also active with the Holyoke Jewish Seniors. The family is grateful for the excellent care she received at the Loomis House. Calling Hours for Pauline will be held on Wednesday, April 4th from 4 to 7PM at the Barry Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA. The funeral will be conducted Thursday morning at 8:30 AM from the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 AM Liturgy of the Word in Holy Week at the Our Lady of the Cross Church in Holyoke with her burial in the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley.
