Virginia Jackson Dabney, 85, retired employee of the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, died November 15 at St. Francis Hospital after a brief illness. Visitation will be at Colonial Park United Methodist Church, November 18, at 10:00. A memorial service will follow at 11:00. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifton Dabney. She is survived by two children, Jack Dabney (Lynne) and Linda Patterson; five grandchildren, Jim Dabney, Alyson Dabney Brownyard (Aaron) , Ginny Patterson Bozeman (Will) , Dabney Patterson, and Jay Patterson (Julie); and three great-grand children. An avid bridge player, she was a member of American Contract Bridge League and a Bronze Life Master. An alumna of Memphis Tech High School and Mississippi University for Women, Virginia also enjoyed watching Southeast Conference football. She was a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church and was active in the Women’s Society of the Methodist Church her entire adult life.
