BENSON, BETTY CRESWELL – age 79, of Knoxville, passed away 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at NHC Healthcare of Knoxville. Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, she was a member of The Church at Sterchi Hills and attended First Baptist Church of Powell. She was a member and singer with the Sweet Adelines and preceded in death by her son, Andy Benson; granddaughter, Caroline Benson; parents, Harold and Helen Creswell; sister, Julie Humphrey; and father of her children, Ashley J. Benson. Survivors: daughter, Cathy Benson and partner Susan Jimenez; sons, Michael Benson, Mark Benson, Adam Jeffrey Benson, and Stacey (Cheryl) Benson; her two granddaughters who she raised, Brandis (Brent) Belue, and Ashley (Adam Wallace) Benson, as well as granddaughters, Chelsey Benson, Eden Benson; grandsons, Graham Benson, Austin Benson, Blake Benson, and Hayes Benson; great-grandchildren, Addison Wallace, Avery, Maddox, Parker and Cameron Belue; sisters, Myra Nine, and Cherrie Turner; brother, Dick (Pat) Creswell; daughters-in-law, Elaine Benson, and Darlene Benson Tudor; life-long friend, Wanda Farmer. The family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, May 6th at Greenwood Cemetery for a graveside service and interment at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Jack Parrott officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5th at Stevens Mortuary.
