“Grandma Bon Bon”

Our beautiful daughter, mother and grandma died tragically and suddenly of cardiac arrest in the arms of her daughter, Jennifer, on June 12, 2011.

Bonnie was born in Los Angles, California on October 4th, 1949 to Paul and Mildred Duggins. She was raised in VanNuys, CA, and moved to her beloved Utah in 1968. She married Steven Olsen in 1969, and they resided in Gunnison and later in Salt Lake City. They had two daughters Jennifer and Monica. They were later divorced.

Bonnie spent a lifetime of hard work at Sees Candies, K-Mart, Dillards and Dahle’s. She spent the last several years of her life caring for her elderly mother, Mildred.

Her greatest joy and happiness was the time spent with her two grandsons Kenny and Charlie. They were the true light of her life. They eagerly anticipated time spent in her home. Their mutual love was apparent to all.

She considered her greatest accomplishment to be having raised two daughters as a single parent.

Bonnie loved the holidays and made them special. Many fond memories were created decorating with her grandsons.

She loved spending time in her garden. She had a green thumb as demonstrated by the copious blooms of her flowers every year. Bonnie loved animals and had fond memories of riding her horse Brownie and caring for the numerous dogs in her life.

Bonnie is survived by her mother Mildred Duggins, daughters Jennifer Olsen, Monica (Ken) Bell and beloved grandchildren Kenny and Charlie Bell. She is preceded in death by her father Paul J. Duggins.

She was taken too soon and will be sorely missed. A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday June 15th 6-8 PM. at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray Utah.

A memorial service honoring and celebrating Bonnie’s life will be held at a future date.

The family would like to thank the Taylorsville Police Department, Unified Fire Department and the physicians and nurses at IMC Hospital for their excellent care.

Jennifer, i am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. Only God knows why these things happen the way they do. Please if there is anyway I can help make this difficult time a little less painful, anyway at all, please let me know.

I know your mother had to have been a wonderful woman, you are a wonderful person, and i know you made her proud.

Jennifer and Monica. I read your moms obit. today. I am so sorry for your loss. I have alawys loved the way you cared about her. I miss you guys comming in Albertsons, And When she worked at Kmart we became friends. Hold tight together. I lost my mom a at a early age too, and I know she is my Angel now. I would also love you to contact me. I think the picture your picked of your Mom is beautiful..... Rest in peace Bonnie.
