My mother just called and read Ed's obituary to me over the phone. She remembers talking to him on parent nights at SGS. I remember discovering in his 9th science class the only kind of "magic" that ever interested me: chemical reactions. Ed's gently sarcastic wit and sense of fun in the classroom infected me with a sense of chemistry as a delight that has remained: I have taken college chemistry three times now, at three different schools over the

What a beautifully written tribute to wonderful man. His life was a gift to thousands of students and fellow educators. He was an inspiration and rare man of of devout integrity. My thoughts are with you Mary and your boys. Heather Audel

Thank you Ed. You were the most patient, knowledgeable, understanding, witty coach and teacher. Thinking about the time I was able to spend on your team as well as in your classroom makes me smile and brings back many wonderful memories. I love those times. I hope your family will feel peace and comfort from our Heavenly Father during this time.

I went to high school with Ed, but unfortunately lost touch with him. He was always fun to be around, smart, witty, and energetic. I am touched to read about his life's work, interests and family...he really made something of his time here on earth. My condolences to his whole family.
