I was searching online for friends that I knew when I was active in the NEA Black Caucus and I found out the sad news of Jackie's passing a year ago. She was my mentor in the Caucus and we had many wonderful times at MAC meetings and NEA Conventions. She was a shining star and the world is a better place because she was here. My deepest condolences to Ty and the family.

I extend my condolences and deepest sympathy to the Gilmore family. Soror Jackie was a member of the Spartanburg AKA Graduate Chapter responsible for my initiation into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. while I was a student at Wofford College. May God grant you all peace.

To the family,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Soror Gilmore was my favorite teacher/assistant principal at Whitlock Junior High School. She was a special person and would help you in any way she could. Her smile would brighten your day. She will truly be missed.

So grateful for your warm smile and your great heart for people. You welcomed me when I visited and you made me feel like a son whenever I was fortunate enough to be in your presence. My heart is heavy but I celebrate because you are with the Master. I love you and Brothers Gilmore.
