Don and Mom at Aquarium of the Pacific in April 2013

Don always spent quality time with me when their family visited us in Anaheim. One of my favorite memories is the time he took me to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach in April 2013.

When I first met Don, shortly after I met his Mom (Maureen) I thought "Wow! "This guy must have been a lineman on his school football team!" I found out that Don had never played football. He was a "gentle giant" and a super Son and Dad. He had a great relationship with his Mom, always talking time to call her on the phone and keeping in touch with her. He took the time to visit us, even though we lived many miles apart.

My beloved son Don was the light of my life. He was such a blessing to me. He always took the time to keep in touch by calling me on the phone to make sure all was going well in my life. He was a wonderful Son, Father and My Best Friend. Although we lived many miles from each other, he arranged to visit us once or twice each year. He was devoted to his two children (Nathan and Shannon).

This really saddens my heart. He was a really nice gentleman. I had two sons that went to Alicia School and Mr. Fitz worked really hard with them to help keep them out of trouble. He loved all the kids. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family.
