My husband Peter and I just learned about the loss of Mrs. J when the Christmas card was returned. Our heart is heavy hearing of Mrs. J s passing. Mrs. J. Was the second mother to all the "boys" as Phi Rho Sigma Medical Fraternity. My husband attended St. Louis U Medical School 1970-1974. Mrs. J was more than a friend. She was our cook for many years at the SLU Phi Rho medical fraternity house. I had the pleasure of visiting with her at my class reunion in 2014 and traded holiday cards with her every year since graduating medical school in 1974. She was "mom" to so many of us and she will be sorely missed.

I worked with Benita many, many years ago at Commerce Bank. She was such a wonderful lady. RIP Bernita. My sympathy to her family and friends.

Bernita was a gentle soul, a true lady of love and kindness. She always had a smile that could brighten any room and was genuine in her heart with all who had the honor of being known as her friend.
