I just caught up with the news of Craig's passing and am shocked and at a loss for words. What a guy! I worked with him at United Airlines for many years, and his knowledge, compassion, optimism and zest for life are qualities that immediately come to mind. He left us far too soon, and his absence leaves a void that will be difficult to fill. My condolences to the extended Busey family.

Craig and I started at the American Dental Association at about the same time and retired a month apart. He was the eminence gris of the organization, a man of warmth and wisdom as well as great experience and knowledge of the law. He was also great company, always ready with a story or a movie quote, and once in a while a show tune. He was the best of us. I will miss you, Counselor.

Craig was my friend, my brother in Christ, my brother in law, my classmate, and my teammate. We had the majority of our classes in high school together. I was blessed to work with him on an Oklahoma tax matter when he was with United Air and with him in connection with his father's affairs. His wit, abilities and gentlemanly qualities were only exceeded by his humility. I believe that soon after his passing he heard "well done my good and faithful servant".

Craig and I were fraternity brothers at Northwestern. We shared an apartment during my first (Craigs third) year in law school. Craig was one of the funniest, smartest, and most thoroughly decent people that I have ever known. Sadly, our lives and careers took us in different directions, making his passing even more bittersweet. I had hoped that we could reconnect as old men and share memories (all good, many hysterical) of times long ago. My wife, Mernie, and I

I will miss Craig. He was a kind and intelligent fellow who always enjoyed life. I knew him while he worked at the ADA through my position as general counsel of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Whenever I had a question or needed some information, I would reach out to Craig and he would swiftly reply by phone or email with the answers and his best wishes. At meetings we would see each other and engage in interesting conversations. Craig was an excellent attorney and represented the interests of the ADA as the consummate professional.

I had heard about Craig Busey for many years during my work with various dental associations. It has only been within the last 18 months as the Executive Director of the Academy of General Dentistry that I had the pleasure of working with Craig. Craig counseled the ADA well, communicated their positions effectively, and treated all he encountered with respect even when on different sides of an issue.

I will miss his kindness, humor and forthrightness.

My condolences to Craig's family, friends, and colleagues on your loss.
