Marietta May Gibson, the daughter of Daniel R. and Iva M. (Hurley) Gibson, was born November 22, 1926, in Spencer, Iowa. She passed away, Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 81 years.
She received her education in the Gillett Grove, Iowa, school and graduated from Gillett Grove High School in 1944.
On August 3, 1947, Marietta was united in marriage to William "Bill" Holiday in Dickens, Iowa. They lived at Gillett Grove, Spirit Lake, Onawa and Estherville. Marietta enjoyed playing the piano and organ for her own pleasure. She also enjoyed giving music lessons to young people and directing young people's church choir in her earlier years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville and has served on many United Methodist Women offices and church committees.
She leaves her husband, Bill of Estherville; daughter, Evelyn Gray and her husband, Craig of Spirit Lake; granddaughter, Jennifer Pangburn and her husband, Justin of Estherville; and three great-grandchildren, Christian Wolff, Melinda Wolff and Matthew Wolff and his wife, JoAnne.
Preceding Marietta in death were her parents; one brother, James; and one sister, Geneive..
