D.J. was a clutch player who never lost his cool when there were 5 seconds left and the Lakers were up by 1. We'll miss him.

Back in the 80's, I spent many hot, June nights watching a nail-biter Celtics playoff game in the old Boston Garden. When I think of that classic team, and DJ's contribution to it, I am filled with a wave of nostalgia for the days when players like D.J. embodied the true spirit of sportsmanship and professionalism.

I watched D.J. during his entire Celtic career. It was a great pleasure; and he will be greatly missed.

DJ, you were the best. I remember watching you with Bird, McHale and Parrish and always getting the ball. You were a gentleman always and a real asset to the spoprt of Baketball. You will be missed. Rest in peace

I grew up watching DJ's no-look bullet passes to Bird under the basket and his great smile hoisting the championship trophies. He will forever be a part of Celtics championship lore.
