Another icon, pioneer and role model passes...as a youngster here "up south" in New York City, I shared the pride of all African-Americans when on Super Bowl Sunday 1966 the Grambling College marching band lit up the Coliseum with their rendition of "SoulFinger"...we as a people were proud, for we had all arrived, it was because of this pioneer that we began to revive our appreciation of the Whitney M. Young Football Classic aka Grambling vs. Morgan State at Yankee Stadium, the Penn Relays and many, many other African-American community oriented sporting events...God Bless and keep dear Coach Robinson, his legacy of success is a beacon for us all.
