I was working at the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, California in 1983 where Mr. Goulet was staying while doing the Glory of Christmas at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove. I had the pleasure of delivering his breakfast one morning. What a gracious guest he was. I'll never forget those blue eyes and the fact he was a very tiney many.
At that time my mother had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and I shared that with him. (He asked me why I looked so sad that morning). He took my mother's name and address and by the time I got there the night after Christmas, there was a signed picture from him wishing her all the best. She was floored!! To show such kindness to a perfect stranger was such an impessive thing to me. I shall never forget him.
