Bea (Dorothy) will be greatly missed. I loved her most in the "Golden Girls" series and still enjoy her in the reruns. She was a wonderful and funny lady. Condolences to her family.

I grew up watching Ms. Arthur during the Maude days and a few guest appearances on different shows. I raised my daughter watching The Golden Girls. Our mother, who passed from this life into eternity in Febraury, 2006, called her 4 girls the Goldem Girls. The oldest was Sophia;s character, the next, Ms Blanche Devouroux, then Betty White...kinda knuckled headed,lol. and I was Dorothy..strong and vibrant. I consider that a privilge to be compared to ms. Arthur, and will miss her dearly..

Rest in peace, Dorothy. Bea, you were great as Maude, but found yourself in Dorothy. My friends call ourselves the Golden Girls. I am supposed to be Blanche and a bit of Dorothy combined. What an honor!!

I always enjoyed Bea, both as Maude and later as Dorothy in Golden Girls. When she playedMaude she was(for the time)at the top of her game, what a perfect charcter for her, I don't thibnk anyone else would have been able to make Maude what Bea did. Now our Golden Girl has gone to her rest after a long and absolutely glorius life. To our dear friend and lifetime companion the incomparable Bea Arthur: "Thank you for being a friend!"

I dont know why, but I am saddened to have just read about Ms. Arthur passing. I loved to watch her in The Golden Girls. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends, may you rest in peace Beatrice Arthur.
