I was just shy of my 21st birthday when "Spooky" came out. When "Stormy" came out in the fall of '68, I went out and got a 45 and played it to death. I was back at college when "Traces" came out. I don't know, but for some reason, that voice penetrated deep inside, and I still go on You Tube and take myself back to my early 20's (I'm now 64). God grant you rest, Dennis.

I worked with Dennis mother Marie at Independent Life Insurance company from 1964-1974.Every I remember when Dennis & the band played over on Casset Ave. Then he moved to Atlanta & became well Known,His mother kept us girls at work up to speed. and every time he came to town we all just swooned! Iam truely sorry for your loss,I just run across a picture of Marie the other day going thru some of my old pictures, and remember wondering about Dennis. I did know until today that he had passed, He had a voice that will never be matched !!!!!!

yes he had a smooth face...but I also know his "voice" was as smooth as silk. Sorry for the error.

I was 17 years old...a senior in high school. Our theme song for the prom that year was " Traces " . To this day when I hear that smooth face of his, it brings tears of happiness and saddness to my eyes. He will always be remembered by us "older" generation. I loved every song the Classic IV ever sang. God Bless the family and may he smile down at all of you. He will be missed. R.I.P. Mr. Dennis Yost .
~ peace ~

The first time I heard Classics IV I was in the 6th grade in Middle school living in Kansas City, Missouri. I was immediately captured by the band's unique sound and Mr. Yost's unbelievable voice. Though I loved all their songs, "Stormy" remains my very favourite Classics IV song of all. Every time I hear it, I get cold chills... even today. May the memory of Mr. Yost live on. And, I wish his friends and family peace, love, wellness, and all the very best!

I am happy to see Dennis Yost and the Classics IV inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. I am so sad to know he isn't here to see how many people were such huge fans of his voice and music. RIP.
