Marshall was not only a great man, he was a good man. He loved and supported his children, he was a true and loyal friend, and he was the best husband any woman could ask for. As his wife I held a privileged position to see both the public and private side. I never saw his faith waiver, nor did he ever compromise his integrity, especially for money or personal gain. He was truly a self-less person, and a real servant of God. Although we his family suffer his absence minute by minute, heaven is rejoicing to have him there. Thank you for sharing your memories of Marshall with me and his family. Now...please honor his legacy and lifetime of service by being a part of rebuilding this city in the only way he believed was right: A city that pays living wages to all workers; a city where racism is confronted and stamped out; a city where honest dialog is encouraged and appreciated; a city where all residents can live in peace and safety regardless of their ethnicity or skin color; and a city that glorifies God. Thank you.

Marshall,
I can still remember the day you gave me a tour of your alma mater when I was in high school. Although I did not attend, Xavier remained on my list until my final decision.

It has really been a pleasure to watch your leadership and the effort that you put forth whether it was raising a family,to being a spiritual leader to community activism. You truly set the example and you raised the bar for all of us.

May God bless you as you go home to heaven, and I thank God for putting you in my life.

Your cousin,
Chuck
