Memory Book for Michael Jackson
Share your memories and donate in the name of Michael Jackson
On June 25th, my world was 'rocked' like time stood still. And even now, as today, I feel so sad with the pain of the loss of Michael Jackson. I am still suspended in a trance-like heartbroken state. Incredible as, regretfully, I had not seen him too much except for 'Black Or White'; now I can't 'get enough.' My first memories of him go way back to the late 60's when a small boy's vibrant voice rang out in 'ABC', 'Rockin Robin' and 'The Love You Save'. So terrible, tragic, he had to die before I realised what we have lost, not appreciated what we had, thinking he would always be here. But that is 'human nature', I guess. On Thursday, I saw 'This Is It', it was absolutely sensational. MJ was so energetic, alive, enthusiastic, although a little thin. His long, rivetting 'Billie Jean' dance routine was as electric as ever when the other performers and crew began whistling, stomping, shouting, and cheering He was smiling, laughing, so happy and enjoying himself, fit, and not out of breath. Your could say he died happy, doing what he loved. His voice was strong and wonderful. As has been said, if only he could be here to see its success and triumph. I will buy the dvd in the New Year. Those 02 concerts would have been 'out of this world','blown us out of the water'. I loved the end when his feet do his iconic little dance up onto his toes and you can hear his faint distant laughter. I hope to see his memorabilia exhibition in London at the end of the month, and listen to many more songs to be released. We must be proud and happy for him, for what he achieved in his life, what he has left us; the fantastic memories, the music and his beautiful children. I have left this last message here to try to comfort my suffering soul, and because I have tried many times to submit a 'memory' message on his official website, but failed to get it submitted; but I suppose it doesn't really matter as long as I can share my feelings and thoughts to help others.

I am so happy my 'memory' tribute has been submitted. I want to add that I am grateful that I lived at the same time as Michael Jackson. God Bless, and thank him for all he gave us. He gave his all. I have cried reading all the moving tributes to him, filled with all the love, like mine, that people feel for him. Perhaps this is not the end, but the beginning for the better world he wanted, if we all remember the good things he did and said. There is nothing more to say.

Yes. Michael Jackson did light up the world. With mixed bitter-sweet emotions I listened to 'This Is It' and felt the love, passion and feeling, heard that voice, the beautiful powerful lyrics and flowing rhythm. It was almost as if he was alive and his spirit all around. Four months since he died and I am startled he is still in my thoughts and heart all the time. Unbelievable. I watched his top 40 videos on a TV music channel just after he died, and I was 'blown away, hooked'. I have bought magazines, cds, dvds, books, posters so I will always have his image, his smile, his voice. Every day I play something or go online. I have even bought a ticket to see the film which just goes to show that, even at 67, you are never too old to be a MJ fan! His 20 years of philanthropic charity work has inspired me to send money to The Great Ormond Street Hospital as he did, and help children read as a volunteer in line with his reading foundation also in London. It all helps ease my grief. I hope there be memorial statues of him, and places where we can still hear his music and see him dance all around the world. I hope my words may have comforted all the fans out there, particularly his mother and children.

Spirit brought you here. A blessing to us all. You have given us your love and taken us closer to God. Now you've been called and you're going home. Even though we'll miss you here now is your time to go. God knows why it's time to say good-bye. Don't you look back and cry. You just spread your angel wings and fly. So much we've gone through. How much we've grown together. How can we thank someone enough for giving us the gifts that make life better? So we let you go but hold on to the memories. You'll live forever in our hearts and every day we'll thank God for your life. God knows why. It's time to say good-bye. Don't you look back and cry. You just spread your angel wings and fly. REST IN PEACE MICHAEL JACKSON

My world seemingly STOPPED the day that I heard the most unfortunate news of Michael Jackson's death. I did not want to believe it, lost sleep, couldn't eat, did not/could not talk to others who were not fans; I WAS A MESS! How talented, his dance and spirit will live in the hearts of all for eternity. Love him or hate him, he was a giant on the floor and through his voice with his music. I want justice for the individual(s) that allowed his death and to make them realize that the "LOVE of money IS the root of all EVIL." Rest in peace Michael Joseph Jackson; we loved you but GOD LOVES YOU BEST. You will always live in our hearts 4EVER!

I remember when the Jackson 5 came to Mobile, Alabama and of course it was sold out. We had a ball, and Micheal showed out, he and his brothers had the crowd going crazy with that dam Moonwalk. I just want to say that He will be missed and there will never be another like him. Just like the Reverend Al Sharpton said" there is nothing strange about him just how the media treated him. I love you Micheal and YOU ARE NOT ALONE RIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God looked around his garden And found an empty place He then looked down upon this earth And saw your tired face He put his arms around you And lifted you to rest God's garden must be beautiful He always takes the best He knew that you were suffering He knew you were in pain He knew that you would never Get well on earth again He saw that the road was getting rough and the hills hard to climb So he closed your weary eyelids And whispered, "Please be thine" It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn't go alone For a part of us went with you The day God called you home. MIchael, you were a gift from God, now taken away from us. I am a devout Christian, and I never had any doubt of your pure and gentle heart--done wonderful things for this world--but misunderstood, mocked, persecuted just like Jesus. Thank you Michael for everything, and rest in peace. My prayers go out to his family, and three children.

In Honor of Michael Jackson Beyond our understanding, above the heavens and the clouds, his spirit reaches pass the stars and now his heart does soar! His spirit enjoys eternal peace, his heart is filled with joy. Above the pain of our human condition, now resting with the Lord. The angels sang as God called him and welcomed him to His Heavenly Home. Made himself an Angel now__Now his heart does soar. At night when I look up at the sky, each brightly shinning star is out rejoicing to the Lord. And every Angel in Heaven has welcomed him and forever his heart will soar!

i loved michael jackson....ive cried my heart out everyday since this has happened. like he was a part of my family. i know i never "knew" him, but it seemed so as his passing has impacted my life so much. i can't quit crying...his children were so blessed to have him as a father. i know he is looking down from heaven and realizing what an impact he made to this world. i wish more entertainers or celebrities would use their millions to help the less fortunate like michael continued to do, even in death. his music and videos will live on forever, but his spirit will live in my heart forever also. we are the fortunate ones who got to hear and see the magic that was michael jackson for so many, many years. he still had a long life ahead. what a tragedy. words can't really describe a feeling of loss. my heart is broken. god bless his beautiful children and god bless michael jackson. may his sweet, loving, beautiful soul R.I.P. you will be greatly missed and loved.

I'm a 37 year old woman. When I was 12 I had an 11th row ticket to see the Jackson's Victory Tour! 4 days of camping out! I could never understand why my aunts & mother cried over Elvis or The Beatles! But here I was at Mile High Stadium so CLOSE to the Jackson's, I could see their EYELASHES! The lights went out BANG!!! Michael exploded on the stage dancing, twirling, kicking, moonwalking, smiling, that beautiful voice, and perfection!! I then understood my mother and my aunts!! Something came over me and I WEPT....a weeping that was full of awe & OMG I am in the same place as Michael! His performance made this little girl discover what it felt like to truly be MOVED beyond words! The best concert ever! I am so greatful!! I LOVE MJ! He was a wonderful man & full of life and kindness. I say with a heavy heart...I can't imagine the world without him in it!!! But he will live on forever & his grace he gave to the human race will be never be forgotten. It was a huge loss for me...my knees buckled when I heard the news. I have wept everyday since! The world loved you Michael. God be with his 3 children, family, friends, and fans. Blue Skies from now on MJ!!!

Once in a while, stars are born. Some argue that stars these days are made but very very rarely, there are stars that are born that shine the brightest. Michael Jackson was one of those stars who shone brightly for five generations before his light was suddenly extinguished. It is very difficult to describe how I feel now, especially after watching the memorial service and seeing his casket. It’s difficult for me to bid farewell to a man whose music and lyrics and performances became like our comfortable family couch and helped shape me in many ways as a person and as a fan. Growing up during the height of his career made me feel even more privileged to be his fan. Though I only had glimpses of him from TV or read about him in news articles, his songs made me feel somehow…closer to him. I suppose I could credit my Dad for introducing me to the music of the Jackson 5. He told me how sweet Michael Jackson sounded as a kid, singing songs that were written for older entertainers with a maturity that even surpassed these entertainers. I remember singing “Santa Clause Is Coming To Town” and giggled when I listened to “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause” and it made me wonder if Michael ever got to experience that kind of Christmas. Then I listened to his solo albums and fell in love with Thriller and Bad almost instantly. There was just something extraordinary about this man’s lyricism that blew me away and even more so when he danced. I remember that, as a little girl, I wanted to learn how to dance like him and even dreamed of one day being able to ask him to teach me how to moonwalk. And of course, I saved like mad for my own Thriller jacket. I never got that jacket, but MJ was instrumental in influencing me how to curb my spendthrift ways. It seems like such a small thing to other people, but at that time, it was a pretty big thing for me. Seeing how he’d inspired so many artists from both older and younger generations and how he’d touched the lives of millions of fans around the globe makes it even harder for me to believe that he is truly, physically gone. What has become like a permanent fixture of my childhood, like that old, familiar family couch is now gone. And I am sad. His life was painful to watch, and as it continued to unfold through the barrage of controversy, I hoped that he would someday find peace and be able to make the biggest comeback in entertainment history like the man he worked hard to become. He’s one reason why I can never let go of my inner child and perhaps, will not let go of it forever. His success in breaking so many racial barriers and uniting people in the MJ Fever is what makes him legendary. I was surprised that he’d made it to the Guiness Book of Records for the most charitable institutions supported by a celebrity. I didn’t know that. But that was probably because he had never been one to brag. During all his public appearances, interviews and such, he appealed for nothing but global healing and love for children. At that time, I was a little girl and when he had started his mission to bring more smiles to children, I felt like maybe I could believe in the world a little more. Some might think I’m exaggerating, but a lot of what he did for the world made someone like me feel happy. I never got to see his concert in Manila, but he went out of his way to visit sick children in the hospitals in Manila and make them smile. It showed on his face how much joy he took in a child’s laughter. And that was one reason why I held on to my belief throughout the controversies that Michael was innocent. Indeed, he was proven innocent but the damage had been done and my heart went out to him in the days that he was mocked and ridiculed by people who just refused to understand. Others may say that he doesn’t deserve this kind of tribute, that there are others who deserve much more, but I say that this was a fitting farewell. It was the best kind of send-off for someone who shaped so many lives by moonwalking and creating a form of escapism for us through his music. Few are privileged to see such a star shine so brightly up close, but Michael made it possible for us to see him shine from every corner of the world. And for that, I thank him for all the music. I love you, Michael Jackson and I will miss you.

I agreed with a statement a fan Jasmine made:"Michael touched the life of so many". He was a man of love for the world. He was a humble, kind, loving, giving, caring and magical like "JESUS".No he wasn't JESUS,but he was filled with the love and pure-ness of GOD's love, who was betrayed by lies...I'm from the 50's,and grew up listening to Michael's music and I was always so hypnotice by the power of his performance.I will forever miss you Michael, but I know that your music will live forever...There will never be another like Michael. He was one of a kind. Believe when I tell you...Michael you are now with God,who never forsake you...GOD BLESS YOU MICHAEL............

I remember Michael and his brothers as the Jackson 5. I am 5 years older than Michael. At one time he was all I thougt about. Being young and growing up an only child. I didn't have any friends. The neighborhood kids were never really friendly to me. Sometimes I would just go home and, when I got home, there was Michael's picture with his brothers that always made me feel special. I could go to my room and play the J5 music and just be happy. The neighborhood kids weren't always nice to me, I don't know why, but, when I got home just looking at Michael's picture and Jermaine, I got happy again. I had them all to myself, alone in my room. I used to cry when I was alone because of the way they acted toward me and I'd go home and Michael always made me feel better, everytime. Noone knew how I felt, I was miserable all the time but in my room was Michael and his brothers who did give me some peace. I grew up as did Michael and I still kept up with hi8m some what. It still doesn't seem real to me, my heart hurts. Thanks Michael for the comfort you gave me during my childhood. God Bless you and give you and your family peace. Rest sweet Prince, forever Deloris

Michael Jackson's life was similar to Jesus Christ. All he ever did was try to literally " Heal the world" and seems he was only punished for it while he was here, but is nearly praised while gone. He was the biggest humanitarian I know and it is sad that he was hurt the way he was when here. I cried when I heard of his death and still cry when I hear his music. My favorite memory of Michael is listening to and singing his song " Ben " when I was younger.

I have always enjoyed Michael's music. And even now when I hear his music, I get excited and want to dance. His music will never become old. Now, he is just asleep, unconcious of anything, and I will be happy to see him again, after the resurrection. He left a legacy of music that stirred the soul and leaves you thinking, and he was a gentle soul.

At 7 years old I started watching Michael Jackson and imitating his mind blowing dance moves. Im now 17 and not a day has gone by since then that I havent listened to his amazing music. Ive also turned into a decent dancer just by watching the King of Pop and no other training. I love to dance it helps me relax and clear my mind, and it is such a huge part in my life and I have Michael to thank for all of that! He will be missed but I know till the day that I die, a day wont go by that I dont listen to Michael Jackson's Music. RIP Michael Jackson the "King of Pop"

Michael, I was so sadden when I learn about your passing away. Tears streamed down my face, as I sat and listened to your brother, Jermaine, on National TV, express to the world, his unconditional love for his brother. Jermaine also reminded us about the unconditional love you manifested to mankind, while you were yet still here in the flesh. Your hard work has paid off because now you are in a glorious state. They destroyed your flesh, but not your soul. Michael, your love and memory will live on in Billions of hearts and minds. "LOVE YOU MICHAEL JACKSON AND FAMILY" FAN

I wanted to send a note to the family. I lost my husband when he was only 36 years old, and he left behind 3 small children. My husband had been very ill and did not let us know. (I do not mean to say that I believe everything about the drugs with Michael, but I wanted to tell the rest of the story so that you would know that I kind of understand). He was in Iraq and got ill. He got out of the service and started to act different. He used medications to stop the pain in his head, but the problem was that he got the stuff from different doctors. I finally realized that there was something was really wrong and took him to hospital it was really to late for him. The doctors told me before he passed that he was just trying to get rid of the pain and nothing that he took would take care of it. The doctors that he had seen did not know that there was something wrong in is brain, something that he caught while he was overseas. The last hospital that I took him too, realized that his brain was swollen and that steroids where the only thing they could give him and then Tylenol would help. They were not able to save him, but it helped me know why he would do something like he did. He passed away in 1997 at the age of 36. It was very hard on all of us, but the one thing is that we have never forgotten him, and I now can understand that he just wanted to get away from the pain, and that I do not blame him. I know that we are not famous or rich, but you know that really does not matter. It is the love that we feel for our loved ones and what will happen to the children. I had to learn to be both Mother and Father to the children, which is what Michael did from the first day that he had his children. What I want the family to know is that the children will always remember their father and they will remember all the good times that they had, and the little things that we as adults really forget. Like the bath time together, where they made costumes with suds. The time that they sat together and just read a story or watched a movie. Those are the images that they will remember. It has helped my kids by talking to them and having them tell me about their dad, and the special things that they remember about him. Let them make their own family albums with the pictures that they want to put in, and let them write what each of the pictures are about and the what fun thing that picture reminds them of. Michaels children cannot be protected from everything, and that just goes with who their father is, but this will be a special something to look back at that is all their own and the true meaning of their father. Because only what they know of their father and what the family remembers of their father is what counts. We the public and the media do not count for anything in the true life of Michael. I would like for the family to know that we are there for them even if it's only in a letter. It will take time to heal, and for the family they can only block out the negative and remember the great. I tried to find a page that I could send my condolences on. I remember them all from when I was a kid. I was born in 1960 so I remember them all. Please just let them know to hold on to the good, and each other, and love the children. Let them remember their dad the way that they want to remember him. Jermaine remember your brother as a loving brother, friend, and father. He will be missed. Thank you for letting me send this to you. I hope that you will allow this to get to the family. We will all miss him and remember all the good things that he made us feel with his music.

I grew up watching Michael Jackson grow up on television. He was the Elvis of the 80's for many of us. He was very unique and will be greatly missed. It too bad he got such a bad rap and was accused of bad things, I too get stereotyped as he did and it really hurts. You never know what someone is like till you live with them. I believe Michael was a very peaceful soul who got mistreated in his young life and it made him very different than most of us. He was a good man. He helped the world to try and be a better place.

My memories are too vast to recount here, from pushing Michael's albums around in my doll stroller at age 5, to my first concert at 17 - the Victory Tour - where I arrived by chartered PLANE, to performing the entire Thriller choreography wearing an outfit made out of a trash bag in front of a crowd of hundreds, to the full circle anniversary show at Madison Square Garden. I'm flooded with emotions, memories, sadness and profound loss. We have lost a genius talent never to be replaced. I feel like my best friend is gone, a piece of my soul has flown away. May you finally have the peace you so deserved, Michael. I love you forever.

My condolences to the Jackson Family. May you take comfort in remembering what a sweet spirit your Michael had in life as well as in his life afterward.----I am originally from the Gary, Indiana area and remember what great pride we had when the Jacksons first came on the scene. I've been a fan ever since. Even now, at the age of 58, nothing moves me like Michael Jackson's music. He truly is the "King of Pop" and will be greatly missed.

You were so unique, so fantastic, so adorable, it's hard to accept your death. We all lost a part of us. But I'm sure that now you're in a better place watching us, may you rest in peace Michael. And thank you for all the love, the music and the dance that you gave us, you will live forever in us. My condolences go out to the Jackson family. I'm so sorry. Your angel Michael is watching over you now. Mrs. Jackson Micheal's face lit up every time he spoke of you. I'm so glad his children are with you. Many people said Micheal was childlike. I only saw the innocence of a child. It reminds me of that Bible quote saying that we must be childlike to get into the kingdom of heaven. Thanks for sharing him with all of us. (I'm sorry people took advantage.) His song "They don't care about us" makes me cry. The saddest part is that I can see how that was true for him. Thanks for being there for him and giving him a reason to still hold his head high. He will always be remembered in my mind and Many Many others for his greatness and kindness and talent. I will continue to pray for your family and Michael. I hope he is praying for us. I hope you feel our prayers.

I have no real memories of Michael other than watching him grow up in the news. He was extraordinary in mind and spirit... his intent I believe was basically good regardless of the rumors and truths behind his tragically short-lived life. My wish for his spirit is that in death maybe he can find the love, acceptance and peace he so craved for in life. More importantly, maybe in heaven he can put away the demons which haunted him on earth. Rest peacefully, Michael and look down upon and protect your children, all children from above.

I am writing with tears on my face to let the Jackson family know how much I am sorry they lost their wonderful son, brother, father, uncle... Michael was so sensitive. We could hear it in his voice and see it in his dance and steps. Michael was unmatched as a performer and someone that a part of us will be forever changed by. He really needed to rest. He was exhausted from what was bothering him. We had to let him go back to God who gave him to us. He gave everything he had to his art and we loved him and his music and dancing too much. We will always miss him, his beautiful music and dancing. He was given to us by God and God saw fit to take him when He needed him to be in heaven. I know he is in heaven now looking down at our misery without him and will welcome us (his family and public fans) with open arms when it is our time. A wonderful person and performer like Michael only comes along once in a lifetime and for me it was your wonderful brother, son and father who touched me at a tough time in my life and made it better for me through his music. May God Bless the Jackson family and remain with them now during this especially difficult time and always. Love and Blessings, Diane Achatz, Brighton, Michigan

An article I read today, June 29, 2009, about Michael Jackson: Columnist Andrew Sullivan, on his blog for The Nation magazine, wrote that he grieved for Jackson "but I also grieve for the culture that created and destroyed him." "That culture is ours, and it is a lethal and brutal one: With fame and celebrity as its core values, with money as its sole motive, it chewed this child up and spat him out," Sullivan wrote. "I hope he has the peace now he never had in his life. And I pray that such genius will not be so abused again." This scripture were the last verses I’d read which was the day before Michael Jackson went to the Lord to live and be in His loving presence forever: Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit"; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that." (James 4:13-15) GOD LOVES YOU, MICHAEL. I Love You, too. Eternally yours, Liisa

I Have never seen michael in person but I thought I would finally get a chance with this tour. Im thirty-three now but as a little girl I had all his posters from Thriller like, Human Nature. Billy jean beat it, etc He was so beautiful to me. I would lay in bed for hours staring at him. I loved him so. I was only eight but I felt so deeply for him.I still remember those feelings. Now, I have my own children and they love him also. My daughter is ten and she cried herself to sleep after hearing of his death. I still cant believe it! But it made me look at life and how presious it really is, how precious my children are . I look at Michael, A man I thought would live forever. But, at least his music will. The world has received "BAD" news...It has left me quite "SPEECHLESS", almost as if watching a "THRILLER"! The news that Michael Jackson has died is "OFF THE WALL". Throughout the years, he'd become a household name and an icon. He wasn't only a "DANCE MACHINE" but a true showman. To many, his life choices were not approved and always criticized. Always in the spotlight for accusations that none of us could ever prove!! So, why "SCREAM" whether he's "BLACK OR WHITE"? "SAY, SAY, SAY" this or that... So what that he wanted a "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)", everyone wants kids, no? The media always "WANNA BE STARTIN' SOMETHIN'" "TABLOID JUNKIES" thinking they're "SMOOTH CRIMINALS" prying in lives, other than their own! We all know they "DON'T STOP 'TIL YOU GET ENOUGH"..! Put yourself in his shoes and try...(KEYWORD: TRY) to live his life... No "CHILDHOOD", no life of his own, no "PRIVACY", and on and on...Just "BEAT IT" and buzz off already!!!!! He may not have been perfect, but who is??? People focus too much on the negative and don't stop to notice that he may just really wanted to "HEAL THE WORLD". I can only picture him that morning looking at a "MAN IN THE MIRROR" and having no clue it was that man's last day. I feel he has "GONE TOO SOON"... As a young girl, I was a huge fan and I'm proud to admit it...I had a shirt for "CRY"ing out loud.. Hee Hee! If I could tell him anything, it'd be.. "it was always about, "THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL" and I would love to "ROCK WITH YOU"..." If you feeel the same, know that "YOU ARE NOT ALONE" All we can do now is "COME TOGETHER" and "REMEMBER THE TIMES".....! R.I.P MICHAEL XX

Michael Jackson!! A name that will live on forever in the minds and spirts of everyone who has every seen or heard or read anything about you. You were an incredible entertainer who raised the bar on how to be a SUPERSTAR!! You showed how hard work and talent kept you on top, even when others tried to knock you down. There will never be another like you but rest assured there will be many more paying tributes to you by copying your signature moves. Your pain here on earth has ended, but I hope and pray you have found the childhood that you lost so many years ago in heaven. Tell Ryan I said hello also.

Micheal you were a gift sent from God. You came down from up above The pain you suffered people will never know. But through it all you went on with the show. Understood by very few. Only those close to you really knew Scrutinized for how you looked, what you said and did. Criticized for how you chose to live. You gave so much love to those in need Making sure children from the very poor could feed You gave off so much love and got so little in return Maybe now your gone people will look back and learn A man but still a child in mind Hoping and wishing that one day you would find A place where you could just be free to do What you wanted, just to be you You finally have the peace you so yearned for The last Chapter of the book has ended You can know shut the door Now God has taken you home Where you will never again be alone Love Alicia Sloley

One of my favorite childhood memories is Saturday mornings, watching the Jackson 5 cartoons with my dad after he made us pancakes. I loved and enjoyed Off the Wall and Thriller all through high school. I remember the night of the Motown special, watching with my mom, the both of us staring in awe at the TV during Michael's performance. I'm proud to have been a witness to the birth of a new superstar. Michael Jackson was such a gentle and gracious human being. I wish I would have appreciated him as much as he deserved while he was still here. I am heartbroken.

Michael, may you rest in final peace. I will miss you forever. The world has lost a bright and shining star whose light continues to shine throughout the blessed earth. You have been a kindred spirit. You have successfully transcended this earthly realm and are called back to your angelic home. Your work is done my son. May we see you again in your children. Good bye and may you hear "Well done thou good and faithful servant."

Michael Jackson touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed but always remembered I send my prayers and condolences to the family and want all of you to know that you are loved by so many Michael was my favorite artist and I loved hearing him sing and watching him perform However, what i loved most was his kind, compassionate and giving heart As a child I remember his contribution to the We are the World Aid to Africa project I remember how much good that brought to the hearts of the children and people of the world I now work with teenagers at a YMCA and they asked me what i would miss most and I shared with them the memory of the song We are the World and all the good that came out of that moment This inspired them to locate and watch the video They were astonished by all of the artists that gathered on that one night to sing for a cause They asked would that ever happen again I said I didn't know Some said maybe in his memory it will I also was very concerned by how a boy only a few years older than me was being treated because he had the fatal AIDS virus I spent a lot of time reading and following his story Again, Michael became involved and inspired Ryan White to keep on going When he died Michael's song Gone too soon was perfect Michael never stopped trying to create peace in this world as he helped many at his Never Land Ranch Heal the world at the Super Bowl was awe inspiring I will miss his energy and passion that he shared with us all Janet, I am sorry for your pain Michael was a wonderful person and I am sure a wonderful brother I have always been a fan of yours as well I see so much of Michael in you I hope someday you feel courageous enough to embrace the gift that only you two shared No matter where life leads you remember you are never alone and he lives on inside you Smile, he will never truly leave you You are forever in my prayers Love you all, Becky

I am from Michael Jackson's home state of Indiana. My brother and myself grew up listening to his music. Depsite everything that this man went through,he was a talented man,a true icon,a legand. God saw his ups and downs in life, the heartaches, the suffering and decided it was time to bring him home.God let him know that "You Are Not Alone" and "I Want You Back". He will sadly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Jackson family.

I feel that part of my childhood and youth has passed away. How can I forget all those hours I spent in front of the TV, trying to do MJ's moves when I was little? How can I forget all those teenager-parties, where we all danced at his music? How can I forget the money I was saving just to get that red jacket he was wearing on Thriller-video? His death touched me so much, but then again that is what ART does to you. It affects your life, your inner world. That is what Michael Jackson did to me. Ty Michael! I will never forget you. May you rest in Peace!

I feel deeply saddened by these news. It was a shock I've had only once before in my life, when my father died. There are no words to describe what I have felt during the weekend, what I still feel now. I have always liked his music and he was such an isnpiration to so many people. It is nice to see that at least now he gets the attention and respect he truly deserved. My condolences to his family and especially his children. A true, true legend has passed away and there will never ever be any one like him.

Michael was the first inspiration I can remember as a young aspiring performer - he had a commitment to his craft that is unparalleled by any other entertainer of his or my time. He sacrificed any chance of normalcy to give us all intrigue, hope, passion, determination, and love. All facets of his life are played out in his music and given to us so selflessly and for the greater good. What a performer, what a talent, and what a loss.

The world now has a void that can never, ever, be filled by anyone else... The death of Michael has impacted me more than I can put into words. I'll always have a place for him in my heart because of how happy he made me as a child and even into my adult years. I am glad he is in a better place now and won't have to endure the troubles he had here on Earth any longer... I just wish I could "wake up" and this all be a nightmare. Thank you so much for making my childhood special Michael... rest now, you deserve it. We miss you so much and will love you always Michael.

I was just a 12 year old girl when he came out into full stardom , we loved him our whole school year. His music took me into a world of excitement! and freedom!. . And in the hard times songs such as Ben , and Remember the Time , Earth Song , , where to tell you the truth releaving to my mind and soul. It was sad to see his mental dimise in his loniess and obseucrity , and how his childhood that didnt allow him the time to just be,had twisted his ways , but now today the world should remember the greater part of the spirited African American man with such a huge love to serve his fans, with his talents somethng that was true about him from a young age, when he sung Rock'n Robin. the rythym and beat he put in our hearts.. Thank you Michael and We Loved You Michael..

RIP Michael. Please God forgive a silent tear, a constant wish that he was here. Others were taken, yes we know, but he was ours and we loved him so. He bid no one a last farewell, nor even said good-bye He was gone before we knew it and only God knows why. If all the world were ours to give we’d give it all and more to see that loving face of his just once more. For those of who have someone who means a lot, treasure them with care. For you never know their value til you see their vacant chair. Aurhor Unknown

Michael Jackson was the most talented entertainer and the biggest loss in my lifetime. If people knew he was abusing drugs, why would they continue to provide them? For money? But wasn't he in debt? Doesn't add up. I'm glad he was acquitted because I believed he was innocent, just misunderstood. He may have been a bit "off" mentally but what great artist wasn't? It's great to see all the love for him coming out now but it's also a bit sad because where was it when he needed it? I wish we did this for him to see when he was still alive. Why do we wait for someone to die to show love? Seems incredibly backwards to me, but that's how our society works, right? Michael J. said it best himself when it comes to his life: "Don't stop 'til you get enough." Thanks to all the people he encountered who were users, abusers, and enablers, looks like he finally had enough. Thank you for sharing your talent with us, Michael. You'll be remembered and loved forever like Elvis and others. You made my teenage years a real "Thriller" and I thank you for that. I'll be dancing to your music for as long as the good Lord allows me. I love you. Hope you find peace now that nobody can hurt you anymore. God Bless your children and family members. Goodbye and Thank you for your music and hard work. And save a dance for me if you can for when I get there too ... Thanks.

I know you are free of pain and shinning down on us all. There are some people trying to tarnish your memory with neg. things being said. All I can say is they never knew you or the love you gave. They are blind to who you was really all about. Thank goodness the people that really knew you and loves you know these neg. things are not true! Everyone had bad times in their lives but, it does not mean they were monster like some are trying to paint you to be. People that live in glass houses should not be the first to throw stones. Shame on them and I know Michael you would forgive them cause this is what kind of a man you was. RIP .... love you forever

Michael You were a Gift from God You came down from up above The pain you suffered people will never know But through it all you still went on with the show. Understood by very few Only those close to you relly knew You gave so much love to those in need Making sure children from the very poor could feed. You gave off so much love and got so little in return. Maybe now you're gone people will live and learn. A man but still a child in mind Hoping and wishing that one day you would find Aplace where you could just be free to do What you wanted, just be you Now God has taken you home Where you will never again be alone. Michael Jackson, always present in my younger years and still today. The songs, the music, the writing will be my inspiration forever. The hard life you've lived and the sacrifices you had to make are of such nature that I'm convinced you wouldn't wish them to your worst enemies. I hope that you will be remembered for who you truly were; a man with the best of intentions, who used his ability to entertain and create, and did all this in the hope to make our world a little bit better. I deeply respect you for that. This is how I will remember you. And this is how my children someday will first know you. My love to the Jackson family & friends, but most of all to you Michael. I want to say first to the family that you are in my prayers and my heart goes out to each and every one of you. I can say that Michael has truely touched my heart I can remember being a toddler and listening and dancing to the King of Pop with my sister she who was 15 or 16 had the infamous red jacket and later in the years I got one as well. I would tell people that he was my dad since I never knew my biological father. Michael you will truely be missed and your are defintely loved, and never forgetten. The world has truely lost not just a great entertainer who broke barriers but a great man who cared more for others than himself. I'm hurt to see you depart this earth but knowing you are in heaven and not enduring the pain of slander and evil talk cushions my heart. I love you, and may you rest in peace.

I am at a loss for words still over the passing of Michael Jackson. I grew up in the 80's listening to Thriller, leanring his dance moves, and trying to re-create his music videos with friends. He was a musical genius who will always be remembered for his creative mind and soulful music. He gave the music industry and the world so much. My daughter, who is 14 months old, jams to Michael's music even now, and I hope to teach her the legacy of Michael's music and hope she embraces it since his music is so timeless, and will play on until the end of time. I've been watching coverage of the crowds who have gathered to grieve for Michael..the crowd in front of the Apollo on particular, and as sad as this moment is, I can't help but shed a smile, and think Michael is smiling down too, when he sees every race, color, creed and age, gathered together to dance and sing and celebrate his life in a way noone has seen before, at least in my generation. It truly proves how amazing he was that he was able to bring everyone together through his music, and that, if nothing else, will live on forever. Thank you for all the years of wonderful music, Michael. It was appreciated. I hope you are finally at peace and I pray for you and your family.

What does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world but loses his soul? The world is full of addictions, I tell you there is hope in Christ. He can free you from your troubles, He'll give you rest for a hope and a future. Don't rely on drugs to help you, they only cover the symptoms. Check out your hope in Christ and what He can offer you, before it is too late for you. I loved Michaels' songs, performances and style. He was one of a kind. He is his own. Wish he could have done more with his billions, like Feed the World. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Look up for answers, Praying Christ will find you with a broken heart to fill it with Him. Blessing to all the readers here...

Your music has touched my heart and soul throughout the years. As a child I can still remember using my allowance to go and buy "Off The Wall" at the record store. On that record there was a song titled "I Can't Help It". I must have played that song a thousand times. It was such beautiful music to my ears. All of your music has meant so much to so many people including myself. I want to wish you a "Peaceful Journey" my friend. I know the Lord has prepared a home for you. June 25, 2009: The day The music died the passing of Michael Jackson is the saddest day and a significant event in my life. The man and his music represented a time and place in pop culture that influenced and shaped the lives of not only those of my generation, but also those before, after and to come. Rest in peace King of Pop. Like a comet Blazing 'cross the evening sky Gone too soon Like a rainbow Fading in the twinkling of an eye Gone too soon Shiny and sparkly And splendidly bright Here one day Gone one night Like the loss of sunlight On a cloudy afternoon Gone too soon Like a castle Built upon a sandy beach Gone too soon Like a perfect flower That is just beyond your reach Gone too soon Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight Here one day Gone one night Like a sunset Dying with the rising of the moon Gone too soon Gone too soon

I am a 51 year old black women who remembers the first appearance of the Jackson 5 on the Ed Sullivan, I can not tell you how important it was to have an African American group in my generation realize the success of the Jackson 5. It said here we are and we are special. I am so happy to say I was able to see him perform, he was thrilling, awesome and inspired. Later in the 80's when he was the first African American who achieved the cross over success that he did, was amazing. He affected a generation that Sinatra, The Beattles and Elvis did not impact. No matter what the negatives of his life and we ALL have them, he was truly gifted and when he perform he shared Joy. My heartfelt prayers go out to his mother, children, sisters, brothers and family. He is free finally. Rest in Peace Micheal

Always considered the King of Pop, no matter how 'eclectic'. My parents were Mo Town fanatics so I have been listening to his music forever and bought my first MJ album (Off the Wall) in the late 1970's while a youngster in Central America. Already then a legend and not just in the US. Que en paz descanse, Michael.

When the Jackson-5 appeared on Ed Sullivan Show years ago, I was spell bound. They were the greatest and everyone wanted to sing and dance like the Group. They actually brought a new, fresh grove to the surface. Everytime Michael came on stage the question I had, "What move is he going to bring to the table?" Michael was brilliant; too caring; too loving; so much wanted to satisfy the mass public; yet needing more love and more support from the public. I will truly miss this Icon. But God loves him more. God bless Michael and the whole Jackson Family during your time of bereavement.

1982:12-yr-old white girl from Long Island, NY listening to "Thriller" on walkman while falling asleep and looking at my new cassette cover. 2009:39-yrs-old, married w/2 children in CA. It's been repeated on TV how I feel-He was my Elvis, his music cataloged my life, truly in mourning over a man I never met. The same memories and feelings shared all over the world regardless of gender, race, age, or religion. Was looking forward to experiencing MJ's genius in concert w/my children. It was hard to believe the news when I first heard about it yesterday, and it's still hard to believe it today...Michael Joseph Jackson, "The King of Pop", has passed on. Though I only knew him through his music, films and TV appearances, he never struck me as being anything more than a genuine and sincere person. Though I feel he suffered from emotional problems and could, justifiably, be considered a dilusional person, I never once believed that he could possibly be guilty of all the vicious allegations that he had been accused of within the recent past. I firmly believe that he carried with him an air of child-like innocence and that the deep love and admiration he seemed to have for children...and mankind in general...was anything but misplaced. Michael, my thoughts and prayers go out to you as well as your family today, and I just hope that your troubled soul will now, atlast, be able to find complete and total peace. You will be missed... Sincerely, Matt Hanke

It's sad to see him die this way after his last years of life were so full trouble times and trumoil. It would have been great to see him come back and reclaim his throne as the " KING OF POP". The music will always live on! I remember as a teenager going to my grandma Connie's house and putting the vinyl record of "Off the Wall" on the turntable and listening to all the good music that came from this LP. Just the melodies, harmonies, vocalizing, musical styles were food - no,nirvana! - to this music lovers soul! Music is subjective to the listener, and this listener has always enjoyed his musical abilities. Very honorable mention of course to his videos which changed the way music vids were made! Had the pleasure of watching vid of "Remember the Time" with the Egyptian theme as well as others, on BET last night on June 25. (Good to see black people associated with Egypt - imagine that!) Of course, the Masterpiece - "Thriller" - was played and enjoyed! I will always remember the musical legacy he left on the world. Legendary and Visionary indeed. Sincerely, James Morgan

Michael was a sad, lonely man. suffering from post-traumatic stress, low self-esteem. Michael became a product not a person @ a young age, not properly nurtured. His survival depended on pleasing everyone with his artistic talents. Michael tried to live his lost childhood through other chilren, that too proved to be humiliating & he suffered. His monkey was the closest thing to a human that would truly love him unconditionally. Michael unable to drop out of sight began to change his entire look to hide. Now I hope he finds peace in thet beautiful never-land he searched for. No more band aides must be placed on his wounds. People such as I may say we loved Michael, but no one really knew who he was he lost his identity long ago. Who was the thief, life itself. Good-bye michael you made us so happy. Sorry we could not do the same for you .

I met Michael in the late 80's. I sold him a pair of shoes. He was very nice and signed an autrograph for me and had one of his bodyguards bring me a autograph picture (which I still have both to this day). I was so nervous that I accidentally gave him two left shoes when he left!! One of his people called the next day and came back to exchange the shoes for the left and right. I told him to please tell Michael I was so sorry and that I was just nervous and the guy just laughed and said that Michael understood. Someone came back to exchange the shoes for the correct ones and I saw him wearing those same shoes on Arsenio Hall that same weekend. I will never forget meeting and talking with him. He was a gentle and kind soul and I cry even now thinking about our meeting as he always touched my heart from that moment on. I never could beleive all of the negative things that occurred as I met the man and he just didn't seem like he could ever hurt a fly. God bless you Michael. I love you n rest in peace. The hard times over the last 15 years are finally over for you and you are finally at peace.

I was one of those Jackson 5 groupies from age 10 to 16. When I was 12 yrs old in my hometown of Nashville, TN, a couple of friends and I sneeked into a hotel until the Jackson 5 came out. I did not get to get Michael's autograph but I did get Jermaine's. When I touched him that day, I did not know that I had just met the future King of Pop. I was like many, in shock at the news of Michael Jackson's passing. I didn't realise how upset I was til our local channel started doing it's tribute, taking all Michael Jackson requests. At the age of 40, there has been no period of my life that doesn't have some memory of Michael Jackson. My cousin taught me at 8 how to dance cool to the lp "Off the Wall", I danced at school on stage to "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough", I watched the Jackson 5 cartoon, I waited all day for MTV to premier "Thriller", watched him on American Bandstand, and on and on, so many memories which all came rushing back hearing various songs last night. Weather it is "Gone Too Soon", "Heal the World", "Man in the Mirror", songs that make you want to make a change and difference...or "You Are Not Alone", or "Butterflies" you may be snuggling to..or "Off the Wall", "PYT", "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough", "Can You Feel It" that makes you want to get up and boogie..no one can deny he was an amazing soul and humanitarian. I remember buying and trading posters in Tiger Beat and Teen Beat on the bus, kids attempting to dance like him wearing the glove in school, seeing him moondance on Montown's 25th anniversary to Billy Jean...People my age can relate as we lived the phenomena. I feel so sad for his children. I hope the best for them and hope Michael is finally at peace.

I remember Michael best starting from "Thriller". Billy Jean was my favorite. When he did that "Moon Walk", I remember how everyone just went bananas, but that's who he was. He was just an original; and perfectionist at his craft he was SO great at. I have so many wonderful memories of him and although I never met him personally, you could tell from his actions and through his music how sweet, kind, gentle, and giving a person he was. That's what I respected the most about him. The world has lost a genius, an icon, a legend. He will be imitated, but NEVER duplicated! He was one of a kind. I just want to send my sincerest condolences to the Jackson family and pray that GOD will provide you all with comfort and give you the strength to get through this tragic loss. GOD BLESS

But it was "Ben" I could relay to this song as if where my own emotions. I too was like lonely and i got my strenght and the ability to fight my tears, and then after the fight i would listen to the song and cry, with no one else to see but, in my mind, only Him.. Michael has always been part of my family, part of my soul and heart. I feel great emptiness right now. I feel like part of me is gone, I don't know how am I get over this. I feared this day, I knew Michael wasn't always in top shape. The trial took a huge toll on him and he there was so much pressure on him throughout his whole life. People were talking trash and depicting every step he made. He always said he had rhinocerous skin which is true. Lot of people would have lost it. Michael always risen back from every fall, every trouble. This I cannot explain. I believe it was the pressure and stress that killed him. I happy I got to see him perform in Prague and the fact that I actually stood just few inches from him when he arrived to Hotel Intercontinental in Prague. He had so much energy and great smile. I went to support him in Santa Maria for his trial, I went to LA to his 45th birthday celebration. I still can't believe he is gone. His music and his spirit will live forever. He is someone that will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to everyone that loved him..his family, his children, his fans and friends. I am heartbroken.

I have been a Michael Jackson fan for so long I can't remember not being a fan. I saw him on concert with the rest of the Jackson 5 when I was 6 years old. I'm from Ohio so we were at the Richmond concert hall in Cleveland, it has a round stage so you can see everything. I was so excited! I put on my prettiest little dress and I was sitting with my mom's friends' teenage daughter. Well, Michael in is orange sequence comes down the aisle we were sitting on and we were on the end! He reaches over my head and shakes her hand. I remember looking up and being that close to Michael Jackson. If I had not been so stunned I would have reached up and touched his face, he was that close to me. I will always remember that moment, always. 16 year old Michael. That was the most incredible experience. And I still love him and I'm 40 years old. When I celebrate my birthday, the following week I celebrate his birthday. I never forget how old he is because his birthday is exactly 1 week after mine. If my birthday is on Tuesday, the next Tuesday is his birthday. So I always have a drink or something fun on his birthday too. I was planning to go to the last curtain call concert and it just breaks my heart that some people will never see this man in concert. He was incredible! Amazing! I saw grown men cry when we went to the "Bad" concert. Grown men, crying like school girls. He was that amazing. Th energy of his performances was just mystifying. To be in the same room with him just does something to your insides. I can't explain it, but Michael Jackson had something that most performers only have a tiny drop of when you see them. He had like buckets full of that special something. I hate that my children won't get to experience that. I will tell them great stuff about him though. And my God bless and keep his children at this time of loss, I can't imagine how hard it must be for them, especially since they are so young. And for his parents and siblings, God bless them all. I know it is very hard to lose a loved one. My prayers are with you.

Tribute for Dublin Ireland, so sad and shocking to hear this news, I spent many an afternoon making up my own routines to MJ's songs when I was a young child. So sad to think you were on the eve of reminding the world just what a fantastic performer and entertainer you always were. God Bless Michael - look over your children x x x Ruth

Your song and music taught me passion, beauty and to live life to the fullest at all times. You brought me through the awkward, unsure time of adolescence. I've been a fan of yours since I was a little girl, and the purity in you captivated me even at such a young age. I was barely four years old when Free Willy came out and I heard your song "Will You Be There"... I'd sing that song for everyone to hear at the top of my lungs. I can still remember standing in the middle of my grandmother's living room singing with such conviction and being so proud at knowing all the words! (I'd do the humming and the snapping and everything!) Since then I've been singing all of your songs. Michael, you have a light in you, the brightest, most beautiful light.. and now you're in Heaven illuminating. My prayers go out to your children, family and friends. You will be missed. I'll keep singing "Will You Be There" if you promise to always listen. Rest in peace. I love you, Michael.

His death has left a knot in my chest. His music and videos were such a big part of my life growing up. Going to his concert I was so emotional just to be in the same building, breathing the same air as the man. As a teenager, I never thought I'd be able get through a day without Michael in the world. As a grown woman, he will take a piece of me with him. Does anyone ever get over their first crush?

I am stunned, shocked, and my heart is deeply saddened at the passing of the Legend Michael Jackson. I am but two years older than Michael and grew up singing and dancing to his songs. I never thought I would see this day happen. Michael is and will always be the larger than life entertainer and consummate professional. The world will never see the likes of Michael Jackson again. Michael’s music will live on to immortality. My own son Michael, grew up listening to Michael's hits of Billie Jean and Thriller. My son was but five years of age and would put on his precious album of Michael Jackson and sing and dance all afternoon to his Idol. The passing of Michael brings a depth of emotions and memories I will have forever. Rest in Peace Sweet Michael and know how much you are loved by all of us. My deepest sympathies to Michael's family and dearest friends.

It is such a shame that it takes his death for everyone to focus on what he was about; his art. Hopefully now everyone will be reminded of what an astounding talent he was - one of the last revolutionaries of modern music to leave us. Hopefully you are at peace now Michael, you will NEVER be forgotten. And Michael broke down racial barriers and made music history. That is what we should remember him for. Thank you michael for inspiring the world.

My heart and prayers are with Michael's family and children. I feel like there is a hole in my heart-a mixture of shock, sadness and emptiness. It's like a huge part of the happiness of my youth was lost when we lost him. Michael was my era's "Elvis". There is truly no more gifted artist than Michael and I was so excited about his come back! My teen-age years go hand in hand with his music, thank you Michael for just hearing your voice could and will always take me back to happier times! what can you say that hasn't already been said? That here's a man who was a definitive legend of his time and in the world. when I heard of his death, I WAS SHOCKED AND DEVASTATED! I can't believe this actually happened. since the age of 6, i have listened to his music, seen his dance routines, watched him perform and heard the great/sometimes painful stories he told. Whether they were about anything but growing up, he inspired millions and redefined a generation of entertainment for the next few thousand years. It hurts me so much to see you go, especially like this. I will miss you and forever be fondly of your legacy on stage. Farewell Michael Joseph Jackson. My special condolences to your family, friends and fans all over the world.

I cannot believe that this is happening. I heard the news at work that he had suffered a cardiac arrest and was in the hospital. Literally thirty minutes later I saw on the news that he had died. It was like an entire piece of my childhood had been taken from me. I grew up with Michael Jackson, being 44 myself. Aside from all the bad things, one cannot deny that Michael Jackson was an icon. I hope that the press will let him rest in peace, and not just dish dirt about him. Just remember, he was someones son, someones brother, someones Uncle, someones father. RIP my friend.
