Memories & Candles
Before I begin , I would like to show my deepest sympathy on the passing of Jon. I am not sure whether I got the right Scown Family of Kansas because I have lost contact of a very good friend, Mrs LaRetta Scown. If she can recall, I am the boy who we met while transiting at St Louis Airport, while I was on my way to Indiana State University to pursue my studies in 1984. Since then, we have

My best memory of Jon is christmas of 2007 when he got the simpsons movie from Alexis. He was so excited to watch that movie and we ended up watching it at grandma's because he couldn't wait. Everyone was laughing pretty hard at jon because the whole time we watched the movie he had this big grin on his face and he laughed at every joke even if it was a little corny. He was such a Great amazing guy! We will all miss his kindred spirit and his huge smile! You will never have a frown around jon!

Norman, Leslie and LaRetta,
I'm am so sorry about Jon. If there can be any peace at this time, it is to know that Jon accomplished what many never do in finding true love and living life his way.
I always admired your family's closeness. May that closeness bring you comfort in this time of sorrow.
You are in my thoughts and prayers,
Jennifer

LaRetta, Leslie and the whole Scown family. My deepest sympathy on the passing of Jon. I know you have all had a difficult year, but remember that God does not give us more than we can handle. Remember that our memories live on forever and never never die. Often life does not seem fair, but we must hold on to those momories and those loved ones to help us through any difficult times that may come our way. I had

Jon has had a huge influence in my life. Although I wasn't able to spend a large amount of time he instilled in me a love of muscle cars and motorcycles. I have always looked up to him and loved to see him at family reunions. I am currently stationed in England (US Air Force) or I would be there with you. Jon will always be my favorite cousin.

To the Scown family: So very sorry for your loss. Jon was a true friend to me for nearly twenty years. Jon was allways there with a smile ready to jump in and help with whatever was going on. I'll miss you Jon-and wish I could talk to you one more time...and one more time after that..

Jon always seemed shy, but very caring. We never did get to see the family very often, but Jon always had a smile and a listening ear whenever we visited. I know he loved his wife, Robin, and his daughter Kaitlin with all of his heart, and for the past several years was happier than we have ever known him. I felt if I needed help that Jon would be there to help me...his Dad, Mom and siblings were that way also. Jon will be missed. Elaine

Jon lived down the street from my parents. He was a funny, caring man that made everybody laugh. Either with his corny jokes or his sometimes hilarious t-shirts with sayings on them. I miss you Jon and DJ and are keeping Robin and your mom in our prayers. Ride heavens highways buddy!!!
