Eddie..may your soul rest in peace. I remember well the take-over of the newspaper. I am very interested in writing a song about his life & his struggles/battles. If someone could put me in touch with some family member I would appreciate it.910-339-6702

With my husband being a descendant of the Blackfoot Sioux, and after viewing PBS's recent mini-series, "We shall remain" and reviewing the history of the 1973 siege at Wounded Knee, I began to think about Eddie Hatcher and his troubled Fate. My conclusion was that this was and is a story that needs to be retold as Eddie was trying to tell it, and after all I have read, I am convinced that this Man's intentions were well meaning from the start. How very sad was the hand that fate dealt him. How I would love to read about him from the beginning of his life until the tragic end. Someone, some writer somewhere, needs to tell "Eddies story". Eddie you fought for justice and opened a lot of eyes. You will be remember by many. May your family have the peace that they so deserve during this time and may the spirt of God shine up them. One day you will all be together and once again rejoice as a family with no barriers.

A long time coming, and Phyrric or not, in the final accounting, yours was a legitimate battle for truth and justice. May your spirit for truth never die.

There are so many memories. I am Eddie's sister. I was his sounding board, his enemy, the one he hated from time to time. I was the one he knew would forgive hime. I have kept every letter I received from him. The content of those letters could often be very hurtful. But EVERY LETTER was signed with "I love you," Eddie
