June Cook McClenahan, 91, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 14, 2009. She was born January 3, 1918 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Nora Robbins Cook and Harvey Cook. She was a member of Prairie Bayou Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school and Bible School for many years. She was a cook at the New DeRoche School. She was a member of the Caddy Hunting Club and enjoyed feeding the hunters fried pies, biscuits and gravy. One of her favorite pastimes was crocheting, and giving her handiwork as gifts to her family. She was a seamstress for many years and enjoyed sewing for her grandchildren and people in her community. Mom was loving and kind. She taught us the road to Heaven. She also has an old saying, "If you can't say something good about someone, don't say anything at all." This was one of her favorite quotes long before it was used by the rabbit, Thumper and his mother.

She was preceded in death by Her Loving Husband of 73 years - L.W. McClenahan, Her Parents, Infant Son, 1 Infant Brother - Louis Edward, and 1 Infant Sister - Doris Elizabeth.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Looper officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 1:00 PM - until service time at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Prairie Bayou Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her great-granddaughters.
