I met Ms. Taylor while stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base in the 1980's She performed at the enlisted club. She and her husband were there. My husband (now divorced) was from Nashville so they both came from Tennessee and had a lot in common. She was a great entertainer and so very gracious.

I'm glad to have met her. She was a history maker!

I was very saddened to read of the loss of KoKo. She was truly a fabulous singer. This is truly a time to draw close to God in prayer. The Bible tells us: “Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you.” (James 4:8) One of the principal ways to draw close to God is through prayer. Do not underestimate its value! The Bible makes this comforting promise: “Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” (Psalm 34:18) It also assures us: “Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself, and he himself will sustain you.” (Psalm 55:22) Please know that your family is in our prayers.

Sincerly,

B. Christian

Koko Taylor,
My fondest memory is taking my young daughter ( about 7 yrs. old at the time ) and her friend to one of your shows back in 1988. The two girls ran to visit with you in your trailer and you welcomed them in with open arms. They never forgot and still talk about it to this day.
You will be missed by many. I will cherish your memory and music always.

We saw Koko at the Beale St Music Festival and she did not disapoint. It was the best show of the day as she had the crowd stomping their feet along with her. She had such energy and presence. I'll never forget you Koko! R.I.P.

I first saw Koko at the Chesapeake Bay Blues Fest in Annapolis, MD. She was always great and was part of the chairiy event a few times.
I last saw her in 2002 in Bowie, MD, doing a concert at the Equestrian Center with Johnny Lang.
She was great on stage, and was friendly and
very in touch with the audience. She made us all feel like we were part of the concert as well.
She will be sorely missed and I will keep her and her family in my prayers.
She never minded me taking her pictures at the Blues Fest, she was a wonderful, friendly person.
Godspeed to you Koko
love,
Cindy Hill
