Memories & Candles
I studied saxophone with Dan 1981-1985 at Montclair State. I learned so much from him. I was sorry to just hear that he had passed. I'm very sorry for the loss to the music world.

I was one of Mr. Trimboli's many students. I studied with him at Montclair State "College" (now University) in the late 1970s. He was a truly fine musician and a kind and patient teacher as I can personally attest. He truly made the woodwind instruments he played "sing" as if they were his own voice. I had no idea he had passed and found this site while searching his name on the Internet. I encourage you to search his name

I am saddened by the realization that my cherished Uncle Dan has passed from this life. There are so many wonderful memories that I hold of him--but there is one thing that all of these memories have in common. They all speak to what a kind, caring, compassionate, inspirational, extremely talented, and extraordinarily humble man he was. I thought the world of him and will be eternally grateful that he was in my life.To Aunt Jane, cousins Andrew and Nancy,

I, too am deeply saddened by the passing of my former teacher, Mr Dan Trimboli. He was the greatest of woodwind artists and a true inspiration not only to his fellow musicians and students, but to his audiences as well! He will be sorely missed. I studied with Dan in the 1970's and 1980's and thank God I did because it was he who understood my interest in being a woodwind doubler. It was he who had the insight and

Dear Aunt Jane, Andy, Nancy and family
Our deepest condolences for the passing of Uncle Dan. One of our fondest memories is in the 80's when we visited your Hampston place and he was such a gracious host. He took us to the beach, in town to see the shops, he cooked for us and truly enjoyed family. It is one of the best trips we ever took and he holds a special place in our hearts and he will be truly missed. Love and prayers to all. Your family Linda and Peter Ruffino

I studied in the early 80’s and it was not long before I realized he was a musical icon. As a woodwind teacher he could fix any technique problems one may encounter but more importantly Danny had a way of bringing out the best of his students with his soft-spoken and inspirational approach.
I am an elementary instrumental music teacher and every year I take about 200 children to hear the Garden State Concert Band do a performance designed

My heart is broken after hearing last night of Danny Trimboli's passing. My condolences go out to his family. Danny was my private teacher back in the 80s, a good friend and mentor. He opened so many doors for me in the music business from having me sub for him on NY Broadway shows to performing with the NYSO. When I last performed with him over a year ago I was still in awe of his musicianship and thrilled to
