Derrick was like a bratty neighbor hood brother, almost brother-in-law and cousin in law for almost 10 years(Geneva Pointer/mother-in law) I regret not spending any of Derricks adult life with him. His sense of humor and laugh will live on im my soul!

Love and prayers to the family in the loss of Derrick. He will always have a special place in the hearts of our family; he used to visit us often when we lived down the street from the James's, and kept our drive and walk free of snow on the many days that snowed when we lived in Missouri. He was a warm, funny, loving and very respectful young man. We loved him very much and thought, one day, he would have been our son-n-law! God Bless you all.

You have my heart felt condolences on the loss of your son Derrick. I can still picture his big smile has a young boy growing up in San Bernardino and then the last time I seen him he still had the same boyish smile has grown and mature man. We all grow up but sometimes a certain essence stays with a chosen few and his smile remained with him through his adult life. I am truly sorry for your loss, Derrick will be missed.Troy
