Thembi's diaries made the issue of HIV/AIDS, particularly the issue of how significant an issue it is in many African nations, a personal experience. When there are names and faces that we associate with a disease or a disaster we are more likely to have concern for all of those that are suffering. I hope that Thembi's family and friends know that her voice became the voice of the millions with HIV/AIDS, and that while we share your grief over her loss, she informed many people about the problems of preventing HIV/AIDS are caring for those who have HIV/AIDS. Hopefully her voice reached those who can help to solve this problem.
