Farwell, Dr. FitzGerald. She put others before herself. What an inspiration she was
to us all. Her story, her flight, her dreams, and goals were awesome. I remember her story. What a brilliant doctor she was. Our condolences to her family especially to her husband of only three years. Our hearts go out to you. An angel to the heavens and our lord. A young doctor surely to be missed. God Bless. Jerri, back in 2003, you gave me the best vacation I have ever had in my life - I will always treasure the time with you and your Mom in Germany - and you will always be my sister. We shared ONE past...

May you RIP Jerri as you touched alot of souls. I am about to be homeless and I am disabled unable to get SSI or SSD but, I continue to help my Mom. As you know people with no ins. doesn't get help like the people with ins. I hope I am not going to be too late for my Mom's help or mine. At this point we see no hope so if you would ask Jesus to come help us out here in Omaha, NE., your help will be appreciated as we pray too and help whoever we can although it is not much. I know others need help too and my sister in going into foreclosure so, maybe you can ask Jesus lend us so hope as I am lost what else I can do. Thanks ... my condolences to you and your man and loved ones!

I follwed Jerri's story and her plight while at the South Pole. My prayers were with her at that time. Now I have a co-worker "Dennis Auckerman" who has brought to life for all of us the real story and how he and all of his team at the South Pole rallied around her and supported her during her ordeal there. Dennis and all of us are just heart broken that she has lost her fight with cancer. What a special person she was. She will be missed by all of us and be greatly admired for her work at the Pole and her couragous battle. Condonlances to all of her family and friends. God bless her.

I followed Jerri's courage and fight while at the South Pole, moreover, it hurts to hear that she had subcumbed to cancer. She was a very brave (Strong) women. The world was a better place when she was with us. May she rest in peace.

I was sadden to hear the news of a friend and co-worker . I was happy to be a small part of Jerri's experience's at the South Pole . I remember her laughter and bright personality she displayed during the tough times and how our group pulled together as a family to help her in many ways . I'll never forget lighting the smudge pots for the medicine air drop during the winter and seeing the flowers for Jerri that were attached to the parachute boxes . Jerri will always be thought of dearly and always be in my memories .My codolences to everyone that was a part of Jerri's life .

When my daughter Ashley was a senior at West Branch High School, she contacted Dr. Nielsen Fitzgerald and asked if she would be willing to be the guest speaker at Ashley's graduation ceremony. Dr. Nielsen Fitzgerald accepted and graciously took time out of her very busy schedule to speak to all in attendance and visit her old alma
mater. We never forgot her kindness. We are all richer for having known her and share in her family's loss.
