Saw him in person in Fayetteville N.C. I followed boxing close in early 70s. Alexis was one of the greatest boxer punchers of all time. The wars with Chacon, Mancini, and Olivaries, just to name a few, were classics. The Arron ( the hawk ) Pryor fights were unforgetable brawls... He was a great inspiration to many fans, a gentleman, and a great spokesman for the world of boxing. Alexis (The explosive thin man) Arguello REST IN PEACE... You will be missed Joe Baker Caneron N.C.

I had the opportunity to meet Alexis Arguello over the years at the boxing hall of fame, and he was a true gentleman and an ambassador for the sport of boxing. He will be truly missed.
