We had the great honor and privilege of experiencing 31 years of the Cincinnati Pops with Erich Kunzel at the helm. Now, as we begin our 32nd year as subscribers this weekend, Maestro Kunzel will once again be on the podium, if only in spirit, and beautiful music, as well as the legacy and wonderful memories he left us, will fill Music Hall.

Erich was the consumate director and had such an engaging way of connecting with the audience. We went to every concert he conducted with the Toronto Symphony for 20 years. We never missed his July 1st TV program and often just reminisced about how very much we enjoyed seeing him. It's hard to believe that he has left us all so soon.

I'll always remember him back in 2005 as he guest conducted the Seattle Symphony in a pops concert featuring Star Wars & Star Trek music scores.
Also, one of my all-time favorite recordings is his "Peaches and Cream Foxtrot" album w/the Cincinnati Pops performing Sousa's marches & dances!
