I had the honor of working for Senator Zaffirini during the time she was co-chair of the Senate Finance Committee. Senator Bivins was fair, open and approachable. He embodied all of the things that are so wonderful about Texas. I moved back to my home state of Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, but will carry all that I learned from Senator Zaffirini and Senator Bivins. I am a much better person for having known him.
