Keith Elwyn Hardy Harrisville- Keith Elwyn Hardy passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2009, from leukemia, with his loving family around him. Dad was born March 30, 1933, to Harvey and Mildred Hardy in Harrisville, Utah where he lived all his life. He graduated from Weber High School and Weber State College. He married Patricia C. Hardy on October 3, 1958, in the Los Angeles Temple. They were married almost 42 years and were blessed with four children. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served an LDS mission to Swiss/Austria. He served in many callings including bishop, Stake Presidency, High Counselor, Stake Young Men’s Superintendent, High Priest Group Leader and four years as a temple ordinance worker. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in the 6th Infantry Regiment during the occupation of Berlin, Germany. While there, he sent a letter proposing to mom. He was active in Scouting and was very proud in his accomplishment of receiving the Silver Beaver Award. He was active in the community serving on the Harrisville City Council for 10 years and also as assistant Mayor. He spent 11 years on the Mosquito Abatement District, serving 2 of those years as President. He also served 9 years on the Board of Adjustments. After the passing of Mom, Dad married Marlene L. Peterson on February 2, 2002, in the Ogden LDS Temple. Through this union he inherited a wonderful family. He and Marlene served an LDS mission to Birmingham, Alabama. Dad was a kind, gentle, loving man who taught by example. He was Christlike in all he did and always served others. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by his wife, Marlene; his four children, David (Jeri) Hardy, Alan (Kim) Hardy, Lynnette (Brian) Weese, and Carolyn Williams; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; Marlene’s three children, Brad (Celeste) Peterson, Todd (Jennifer) Peterson, Jason (Jan) Peterson; and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pat, and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Harrisville 1st Ward building, 435 W Harrisville Rd in Harrisville, Utah. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church. The family would like to thank his doctors, and all who have cared for him including the Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinic at LDS Hospital and VistaCare Hospice for their tender, loving care. Dad, you have blessed our lives so much. We have great comfort in knowing that you and mom are together again and we look forward to the time when we will all be together. Until then...we will love and miss you!
