Christine Reyman-Smith, 52, died Monday, November 9, at Northridge Hospital of complications from multiple sclerosis against which she'd fought a valiant battle for more than a decade.

Reyman-Smith, who was born May 31, 1957 in Los Angeles is survived by her husband, Christopher Smith of West Hills, her mother, Bobbi Reyman of Sherman Oaks, her brother, Richard Reyman of Castaic, and many relatives in the U.S and Poland. She was preceded in death by her father, Edmund Reyman, a former Philips Oil Company sales rep who had emigrated to the United States from Poland.

Reyman-Smith was a graduate of Van Nuys High School and received a B.A. degree in design from U.C.L.A. in 1980. While in college, she was a member of the U.C.L.A. skulling team. At the time she became incapacitated by MS, Reyman-Smith was working on a biography of her father, a P-51 pilot in the Polish Squadron of the British Royal Air Force in World War Two.

Reyman-Smith had a long career in media and fine arts and had worked at, among others, NBC, KNBC News, for publicist Shirley Krims on the Warner Brothers lot in Burbank, and for the Beverly Hills Courier. She was proud of being a native Angeleno and of her New York Irish and first-generation Polish heritage.

She was loyal and fearless. In 1994, before the shaking from the Northridge earthquake stopped and emergency vehicles could move out of fire stations, Reyman-Smith rocketed out of her Studio City apartment wearing only a warm coat and flip-flops and drove to check on her friends.
Phones were out, buildings were cracked, and it was a dark January morning. She pounded on doors, bringing food, bottled water, herself, and comfort.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 19 at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary. Reyman-Smith will be interred next to her father at San Fernando Mission Cemetery and Mausoleum.

I remember Krisha as a happy and unique soul. I lived with her cousin Donna in Los Angeles 30 years ago. I was sad to hear she was sick. Rest in Peace. My regards to her family.

Although it was many years ago, I still recall as if it were yesterday, the times we spent with our California relatives. All the way from New York, we enjoyed the west coast and our times together. When Krisha visited us in New York, we had the chance to recipricate the hospitality and enjoyed her company. Life takes us in different directions and we sometimes lose contact with each other, but our prayers and thoughts are with you Aunt Bobbi and Risho. May Krisha rest in peace

I met Christine when were attending UCLA.We took a video class together. Christine made a video about the Nazi Concentration Camps. Mind you this was in the Fine Art Department - not the film school. I was overwhelmed by her work.

Christine had such a big heart. Her laugh was full and rich. I have fond memories of lunches with her at The Milky Way. One of my special presents from Christine is a piece of marble from the Getty Museum. It is like a touchstone.

I lost contact with Christine when I moved to Europe. I just thought of googling her name to reconnect now that I am back in the U.S.A. and found this website.
I am deeply saddened by her passing - what a loss.
