Assemblyman Takasugi was a very kind man. My husband worked for him when he was in the state legislature and I had the honor of meeting him and working on his campaigns. He was known for working well across party lines and was respected by members of both parties.

He took us to the Golden Chicken for dinner in Oxnard, Nao affectionately referred to it as the Golden Cluck Cluck. The restaurant was built in 1929 it has secret booths and sits across from his family market Asahi. I don't eat fish not even my mom can get me to eat it but Nao Takasugi did I just couldn't refuse I ate more fish that night than in my whole life.

Nao was a dear man with a good sense of humor and a great example of taking injustice or adversity and turning those challenges and lessons learned into positive influences and changes. Nao's life is something to celebrate.

I send my prayers and condolences and pto his wife Judy and his children Scott, Russell, Ron, Tricia, and Lea and to his grandchildren.
