We are missing you Doug more and more every day. We loved you with all of our hearts and always will. You were warm, sweet, caring, lovable, tender, and very, very important to us. We will all be together in eternity thanks to God's love and compassion for us. We look forward to that day!

I am terribly saddened by this shocking news, Doug was the sweetest, funniest guy who always made me laugh. I always looked forward to seeing him play with Surrender Dorothy whenever I visited Indiana from California. My heart goes out to his beautiful little daughter Katie, she had such a loving, caring daddy. I will miss Doug immensely, he was my friend. Rest in peace, Doug.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Doug's passing. Although it had been over ten years since our first and last meeting, we had kept up a sporadic and hilarious correspondence, and I was hoping to visit him in 2010.

As a musician, Doug was a paradigm of generosity and patience, and a fine, fine bass player - one of the best I have had the privelige of working with. Although the "thing" we were working on (the Strictly Banks project),

Dougie was a truly amazing person. A wonderful and loving father, a fantastic musician, and a lovely person. I cannot imagine what life is going to be like without him in it, but you can be sure that Heaven is building a truly amazing band. Dougie, you have no idea how much you will be missed.

I assumed I'd have more time to get to know Doug and meet him one day but, in a short time, his spirit amused me and he was kind to me – that’s all most of us look for in a friend. He said he’d enjoyed a visit to England once and would like to return one day. He liked the Guinness, the cider, the music and Monty Python – he often mentioned teaching his daughter some of the silly and mildly rude lines and sketches. That’s how I’ll remember him.
