Memories & Candles
I never had the chance to meet Dorothy directly but certainly did through gh her dauighter Dodi. Dodi has an incredible sense of humor and values. We would laugh and laugh and drink too much. And she was so devoted to family and God. She raised her boys almost alone after her husband died early and unexpectedly. Her beliefs and enthusiam for God in God's many forms is beyond measure. Now that I read Dorothy's obituary, I can easily see

Dodi and family, I remember all the fun we had on Effie Drive. How your parents were there to help and support our family when my dad died. They truely were a blessing.

I have been thinking about you guys a lot since I heard of your mom's passing. So sorry about your loss, she was such a loving, kind-hearted lady. Dave, the last time I saw you was at Amy Hoffman's after- wedding-reception party. Dodi, there have been quite a few times that I tried to connect with you and although that didn't happen I want you to know you are in my thoughts. I do have many fun and funny memories,

Dave, you and I went to St, Vincent's together and I remember your mom from back then. I was fortunate to get to know her better when I was the Director of Volunteer Services at St. Joe hospital. What a wonderful, giving woman. May peace be with you and your whole family as you adjust to your mom's passing.

Your mom made the second generation of the Friday Night Gang feel special; whether she was sneaking a snack plate to the kids at a Messick Lake campfire or asking about our lives at the various weddings and gatherings over the years, she had a special way of showing her support and encouragement that made a difference. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Emy

Another one of the Friday Night Gang has gone. I know my parents will miss your Mom, as will the rest of the Gang. I have fond memories of times at Messick Lake, though I was married and living in Indianapolis by then. It's hard to believe that it has been almost 50 years since we moved to Fort Wayne and met you all. My condolences to the whole family. Barbara Gal
