When he was a fellow student, Bob always impressed me with his cheerful outlook. To that impression he added a lesson in courage last year as he told his class of 1959 about his illness and his resolve to deal with it. That memory of the reunion will stand out as the most vivid recollection of someone I am thankful to have known.

Bob was highly loved and respected member of our class at St. Gregory's and I was and am proud to have been his class-mate. I am so glad I had a chance to see Bob at the 50th high school reunion in Wabash last September. He had a wonderful personality....was a great guy, well liked by all of our classmates and made school fun. My deepest sympathy to the family.

I was deeply saddened to learn that Bob had passed. I wanted so much to see him at last years reunion but I was unable to be there. I thought of you and your family last summer when I saw your names on the donors list at Franke Park Zoo while I was there with my grand kids. Bob was such a great guy, always cheerful and positive. To know him was to love him. We will miss him.
