Austin C. Fraser

I/We've known Austin for many years as our plumber. He's known Andy and myself since we were kids. I/We've enjoyed his sense of humor very much. In recent years I've run into him at Foodmaster and we've chatted. I also extended to him my condolences on his wife passing. I do recall talking to her on the phone at times when we needed him for plumbing reasons. He will be truly missed.

Austin C. Fraser was one of the funniest men I knew, and also a real sweetheart. I remember him from my childhood, calling his wife "Moldyhead." I have no idea why. He also made things up, and said them with a straight face, which made it even funnier.

Whenever I worried about anything at all, I'd just call Austin and he'd run over and check it out for me -- like when my mom didn't answer the phone, he'd run over and find out that the phone was off the hook, or that her car was gone and she was out, always something reassuring.

He also noticed when she didn't raise her bedroom blinds until too late, and then he'd go check to make sure she was okay. It was so reassuring to have him in the neighborhood, such a friendly, funny man, poking around and helping everyone. What a friend. I'll miss him!

Dear Sandra, Richard, Julie and Jeff,
We are so sorry at the passing of your Dad and Grandfather. Austin. was a sweet, kind and gentle man, and the world was a better place because he was here. We hope you repeat the stories he told, and pass them on to future generations. We send our sympathy to you and all of Austin's family.

Our memory of Austin was of a humble man who loved to tell stories of life, with his own twist of humor. May the crowds in heaven who now listen to his stories, appreciate them as much as we did.

I was very sorry to hear of Austin's passing. He will be truly missed by all
of us at Murray Supply Corp. He would faithfully come in every month to
pay his bill and entertain all of us with his great stories and happy memories
of the Fountain St. neighborhood. I informed Murray today of Austin's

One of the first things my Uncle Austin ever taught me was that
Bobby Orr in the penalty box = BAD!! In all seriousness, though, he
has been a great role model for me as to the type of parent and person
that I want to be. He was a kind, caring person whom I have always
held in high regard and I am saddened at his passing.
