Ed was one of the most amazing individuals I have ever met. Back in 1975, I was 19 working for a nursery in Warren when Ed drove in selling semper vivum plants from his hearse. After a short discussion, I realized we had another mutual interest besides horticulture. Ed was on his way to buy his annual season tickets to Kenley Players. He invited me to attend a couple performances, and we quickly became good friends. Since the nursery business

In about 1989 my girlfriend bought a 1956 Packard Clipper Deluxe 4 Door Sedan. It had been sitting for quite a few years, so when we started looking for repair parts we were introduced to Ed Skrocki. Ed helped us to get that Packard back on the road. We joined the Packard club, got engaged on a road trip with that Packard, had the Packard in our wedding, and then drove it for many 10,000's miles.

We spent a couple of

Very sorry to hear of Ed's passing. He and I went back some 30+ years. Our mutual love of sempervivum is what joined us over the decades. Matter of fact, if it were not for the semps, I would not have even known that Ed had passed. Over the years, I believe that I had purchased a complete set of his immense semp collection... and it was because I recently had some deer get into my collection, I was trying

Eddie,

The other day I called your house, not knowing you weren't there these days. Sylvan Fields will never be the same!!

I can still remember the orange business cards advertising "new Packard parts" back in 1966; the first Packard show at Ernie Klingenberg's place; and when you achieved one of your lifetime dreams of owning a Custom 8 convertible (and I remember every year you took the original owner for a ride on his birthday!!).

Tom Henceroth reminded me of the Packard

Today I have received a letter from Ed's sister in Penna. I was totally in shock when I read her letter with the very sad news about my foreign friend Eddy.
Over 20 years we mailed letters and collectibles to eachother! In my archive about 500 + handwritten letters by his hand! Past October '09 I was in the lucky circomstances to meet him for the first time. We had a Great time at his beautiful old Victorian house and huge

was saddened to hear of the passing of Ed he was certainly a kind and caring man and I will truly miss him. The last time I saw him he expressed concern about a clunking sound coming from my car as I drove into his driveway and insisted that before I left his home I check the oil. It seemed fine but he gave me two quarts of oil. I made it home safely but never forgot his concern. He

Joe and I have met Eddie only twice. Both times we enjoyed his company and found him to be quite an accomplished person. His car collection was the subject of many a conversation. We will miss him greatly.

I enjoyed talking to Ed at various car shows. Quite often, Ed would stop at my shop and we would discuss antique cars and the news of the day. It was an honor to know him. Bob Sturdevant, Warren, OH
