Such special memeories of Carol and Mark's wedding and their years together. I love thinking about standing with Mark on the 18th Green at Pebble Beach. May all our wonderful memories keep Mark forever in our hearts. Love to Carol and her girls.

Mr. Ule was my high school chemistry teacher. I wasn't a fan of chemistry, but I always looked forward to his class. He had a way of twisting a boring lesson into something interesting and fun. His humor and wit permeated the class. He talked about making brownies out of nothing but chemicals from the lab and setting water on fire. I still tell my kids about the day he drew a diagram of the atom on the blackboard, telling

Mr. Ule was by far my favorite teacher and a warm, caring, and special person. After the enjoyment I experienced in his chemistry classes I later earned a degree in chemical engineering. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Carol:

Mark was my science teacher wayyyyyyy back -- over forty years ago --- at Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance, California. I remember him vividly as a kind and loving man who taught KIDS more than he taught Biology or Chemistry. I am positive that he was one of the role models of my youth who motivated me to enter public education and I am in my thirty-fifth year!

His death was mentioned in the Bishop Montgomery alumni magazine

Mr. Ule was an amazing teacher, one of my all time favorites. His love of teaching and every single one of his students was apparent. We had a silly nickname for him, "Mr. Molec'ule'. He thought that name was great! I smile just thinking about all of the funny, wonderful things he used to do in class. He was an inspiration to all of his students and touched so many lives- he will be greatly missed.
God Bless,
Jodee Janda

I was so sorry to hear about your family's loss. I'm sure you will have many more posts, as former students find out about Mr. Ule passing on. What a great teacher he was! You never knew what he would do next. I always remember his famous handstands. He had an infectious smile and passed on his enthusiasm for chemistry to all his students. I have no doubt he is smiling down on you from heaven! "The blossom cannot tell

I have such fond memories of Mr. Ule and always looked forward to chemistry because of him. He will be greatly missed by all. God Bless.

Mr. Ule was truly one of my favorite teachers. His love of Chemistry and his passion for teaching were very visible in the classroom. So many great memories but I will especially never forget the colored chalk, the sponge eraser used to make the black board pristine, the classical music played during exams, and his "cat-like reflexes" that he used to catch a flask that had fallen and bounced onto the floor without breaking during a demonstration. My prayers go out to the Ule family during this difficult time. God bless you, Mr. Ule. May you rest in peace.

I'm so sorry for your loss. May your memories of Mark carry you through this difficult time.

Of course, Mr. Ule was an expert chemistry teacher, but also a fine man who ran a classroom where learning and experience were never trumped by standardized tests and other futilities. So when he saw us getting burned out around mid-terms he had us sit in a room lit only by Bunsen burners and listen to Classical music. No small feat to keep the attention of 30-odd 17 year-olds w/ nothing but Bach, but we would never think of disobeying
