Huntersland - Pauline "Aunt Paulie" Laraway Shilstone, 84, of Huntersland Road, died peacefully, May 8, 2010 at the Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY surrounded by her family.

Pauline was born on October 19, 1925 in Esperance, NY, a daughter of the late Libby (Esterbrook) and Asbury Coons.

Pauline graduated from the Middleburgh Central School in 1944. She was a member of the V.F.W. Memorial Post # 2161 Ladies Auxiliary in Middleburgh, NY. Pauline was a lifetime member and Matriarch of the Huntersland United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school there for many years.

Pauline was predeceased by her first husband, Norman Laraway, and on April 15, 2009 by her second husband, Chester P. Shilstone, whom she married on January 12, 1994, and by her brother: Laurence Coons who died in World War II.

She is survived by her daughters: Linda Tanner of Rensselaerville, NY and Darlene (Roy) McGinn of Virginia Beach, VA.; her son David (Darleen) Laraway of Sloansville, NY; her stepson: Chester R. Shilstone of Middleburgh, NY; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister: Norma Huntington of Central Bridge, NY; brothers: Frank Coons of Middleburgh, NY and James Coons of Las Vegas, Nevada and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be held at 5:00PM on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Huntersland United Methodist Church, Huntersland, NY with Reverend Paul Ferenczy officiating. Burial will follow in the Huntersland Christian Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 4-5PM on Wednesday at the church, prior to the service.
