Dear Tom,
My few years at Indiana Tech were ones that I have always cherished. I am so sorry for the loss of your father, yet so encouraged to know of your work and your father's acceptance of Christ in his life. That is the best news I've heard for some time. PTL!
I am a friend of Dr. Chiman Patel, who served with me under your father in the Indiana Tech physics staff. I cherish those days with Chiman, Ralph Bracht,

While I was a student at Tech from 1964-1968, Dr. M taught physics. He came to me one day and said, "Doug, come to physics dept. and I will teach you."

I didn't, but I will never forget that moment.

Ends up I'm doing physics now in my 7th decade, anyway. I thought he might smile. I hope he is smiling!

Best to you, all of you,

Doug

We are sorry we were not able to get to the funeral home to talk with you Tom. We vividly remeber your Dad walking in the neighborhood. We lived at 6027 Glenview Drive when our kids were growing up - Gretchen, Hans, Thadeus and Ryan. We lived next to Barr's until we moved to Walden in 1973. Hopefully, this will ring a bell with you.

The wonderful part of the obituary to us was that your Dad accepted Jesus Christ as his savior before he passed away.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Tom, I'm sorry for your loss. I felt privileged to have your father as my physics professor, and I will always have fond memories of the time I spent with him.

Kozo (Bob as I knew him..I couldn't say his name) was my neighbor and dear friend growig up. He allowed me and my brothe to climb his tree and help him with yard work almost everyday during the summers. Bob never forgot my birthday and alwas treated me as I was one of is adult students, rathar than a child. He taugt me many things and helped me through my Father's death. I've never known such an accomplished man that

I am so sorry for your loss Tommy, but I am happy that my dear old friend Kozo became a Christian.

I met Kozo when he first came to Fort Wayne and what a sweet gentleman he was. He and my husband were close friends, they worked together at Indiana Tech and Kozo often visited us at our home, and when we had our "egg nog" parties we knew that he would always be there.

It was a privilage to have taken classes under Dr. Miyakawa. He was briliant and kind. Thank you Tom, for sharing the opportunity to celebrate your father's 80th birthday. Our prayers are with you and your family. Dr. Miyakawa has touched many of us who has had the chance to meet him and to learn from him.

I saw Dr. Miyakawa so many times over the years walking through Oakhurst neighborhood or on Maplecrest Rd., rain or shine! Sometimes he would be carrying a bag that looked like it contained only one can of soup, so I knew that it was a ritual he seemed to enjoy, not so much that he needed to grocery shop! It was a comfort to me to see him time and time again. In fact, a good friend asked me about

Tom,

I am sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I can still remember coming to your house as a kid. Your father was such a kind man. We have moved away some time ago but I would cruise through the old neighborhood and would sometimes run into him. I was plesently surprised that your dad still remembered me after all those years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dr. Miyakawa was my physics professor at Tech in the mid-1980s. To this day I retell stories of his amazing intellect. My heart rejoices that Dr. Miyakawa accepted Jesus in the last days of his life. For those left behind find comfort in Paul's words in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18:

13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that
