The rail is not the same without Bruce, Katie always knew he would wait for her to get into that ring before closing the gate. Bruce you are missed at the quarter horse shows--they will never be the same without you

I wanted to add one more thought...a waking dream...The saying goes that "if there are no horses in heaven I don't want to go there"...well I see myself at the Rainbow Bridge and all the horses, dogs, cats I have loved come to me and across the pasture I hear a familiar laughing bellow..and I look up to find the joyous face of my friend, my farrier! Will see you again..I KNOW it. deb doodles

Linda & Sons,

I am so sorry to heave of Bruce's passing. John (Maharg) told me last Sunday that Bruce was ill. Alissa (Maharg), our daughter called me today with the sad news.

We, Alissa & Shane & me, met Bruce about 35 years ago when he and Gil Solloway came to our house (John Maharg's) one winter evening. I had no idea who these two guys were, but they had met John at a truckstop somewhere and John being a horseman

Mr. Cater was such a friendly neighbor. We would often exchange hearty waves as he'd pass by in his truck or even if we would be driving by each other. We always appreciated it when he would plow out our driveway with his tractor. We are very sad to hear of his passing and will greatly miss his smile! Our condolences to you, his family. God's peace and comfort be yours.

Bruce was our farrier and friend for many years. He always helped when needed and gave advice when asked. He was an honest man with upstanding values. I looked forward to seeing him at the horse shows each summer and getting his input about many areas of his expertise. He will be missed dearly.

My sincere condolences to the Cater family on their loss. Bruce was my farrier and my friend for 30+ years. I always looked forward to him coming to the farm to do the ponies, even though I was usually last on his list for the day and it was often late in the evening. Even so, he always had time for a little 'squirt' of something afterward and we would sit and talk about 'things.' He had the most infectious

Bruce, you were one of the first people we met when we came to Cobleskill for one our first AQHA shows in 2004, you made us feel welcome. You were always on the rail, the gate, shoeing a horse, fixing a stall door or getting the ring ready after a rain storm, working away with a smile. I can honestly say we will miss you terribly. When we talked at the May show you were so proud of the new
