Jan & I first met when we both lived at the YWCA residence in Omaha. Christensen family: I was very shocked to read of Jan's passing in the Omaha World-Herald, today. I did not know she was sick again. I knew of her bout with cancer 15 or 16 years ago. Jan & I first met when we both lived at the YWCA residence in Omaha. We had some good times there, and after a couple of years, 4 of us moved to an apartment(the whole gound floor of a 2 bedroom home), this was Rosie, Shannon, Jan & myself. We shared some good times there, also.
We each eventually met & married, and went our separate ways, 3 of us in 1960. I moved to Columbus, Ne, and several times on our trips to Omaha, I met up with Jan and we lunch or dinner. A few times we had long phone conversations and we always exchanged Christmas cards. Although we didn't see each other very often, we kept in touch, and I will miss her.

Dear Christensen Family, My heart is saddened to hear of the passing of one of my very best friends. Jan and I got acquainted in kindergarten in College Springs, IA. and we were friends all through our school years. On our last day of school our senior year in College Springs in May of l956, when we graduated, Janice and I decided to bring our little sisters to school with us. She brought Diane and I brought Karen and they were both about 3 to 4 years old. We were so proud of our little sis's as they sat with us in study hall.

After graduation, Janice and I decided to go to Omaha and look for a summer job. We both were employed by Kuehne's Bakery and we roomed together at the Y.W.C.A. near Creighton. I have so many fond memories of all our times together. We used to giggle and laugh all the time. I always looked forward to seeing her at our Class Reunions and visit about "old times." I also got a Christmas greeting from her each year. I will miss her greatly.
