My father just died on 11/10/07 and he also had Amyloidosis. As you know, it is very rare. He was seen by Drs. here and he also went down to the Mayo Clinic. My father was 77 years old and he had a good life, but the last few years were devastating. With kidney dialysis, three times a week. I met Doug several years ago, in an awkward circumstance. He was immediately open and genuinely friendly to me -like he was each time we met after that first time. I will always remember his huge smile and jow he was interested in everything we talked about. Clearly, he loved to know people and I am thankful that I had the chance to know him - even so briefly.

I remember Kelly and Doug's wedding day like it was yesterday! Doug was so handsome and Kelly looked just like a Princess! It was like a fairy tale and they were perfect together! I will always remember Doug for his great smile, and wonderful sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by anyone who knew him.
