Russell Harold Harmon, 69, of McKinney, Texas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Mr. Harmon was born on May 25, 1941, in Fayette, Missouri to the late Russell and Della Sevier Harmon. He attended schools in Missouri and was a 1959 Hallsville High School graduate. Russell proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He worked as a sales manager for R.J. Reynolds. Mr. Harmon was a graduate of Word of Faith Bible College and was a staff pastor for Word of Faith for over 16 years. He also pastored at Abundant Life Family Church in Quinlan, Texas. He was an active member of Family Worship Center in McKinney serving as a pastoral care minister as well acting as the designated pastor for the prison ministry of Collin County. Russ was very active in sports most of his life and until a few years ago even remained active in his favorite sport softball. He also enjoyed bowling and was active on several bowling teams.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Harmon and Della Garrett. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda J. Harmon of McKinney, Texas; son, Kelly Harmon and wife, Kristen of Celina; son, Skip Harmon of Dallas; son, Daniel Harmon of Dallas; daughter, Kimberly Harmon-Pike of Richardson; Stepson, Doug Wright and wife, Leian of Garland; stepdaughter, Traci Smith and husband, Jim of McKinney; stepson, Greg Wright and wife, Amber of Austin; and stepson, Dustin Wright and wife, Debora of Colleyville; mother-in-law, Genevieve Carlson of McKinney; Grandchildren, Zach, Travis, Noah, Andrew, Katie, Lauren, Matthew, Landon, Aydon, Erin, Stoney, Eric, McKenna, Weston, Victoria, Whitney, Hailee, Madison, Sophia, and Gavin; Great-grandchildren, Lyndsey and Leila.

The family will receive friends and relatives at 3:30 P.M., Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Family Worship Center in McKinney. The Funeral Service will follow at 5:00 P.M., with Pastor Charlie Tuttle officiating. Family Worship Center is located at 5780 Virginia Parkway, McKinney, Texas 75071. A committal and interment service with Military Honors will be held Monday, February 21, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
