Larry Wayne Nelson, 65, of Kerby, died Tuesday April 12, 2011 at Rogue Valley
Medical Center.

Services will be announced at a later date.
Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives is in charge of arrangements.

He was born November 19, 1945 in Evansville, Indiana to Earl and Ida Nelson.
In the early 1960’s he traveled from Oregon to Minnesota on horseback.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968.
He married Maureen Rund, the mother of his 3 children. They later divorced.
He moved to the Illinois Valley in 1973. He did gold mining for the last 10 years.
He enjoyed fishing and going out to Nacho Mamas with his dog “Mr. Blue.”

He is survived by
Son Cody Nelson of Kerby
Daughters Tina Marie Rund Nelson of Willow Creek, CA
Sarah Rund Nelson of Eugene
Brothers Tim Nelson of Minnesota
Paul of Minnesota
Sister Wanda Farlander of Evansville, Indiana
12 grandchildren

Memories & Candles

My sympathies to all. Larry and I are old friends dating back to New Orleans in the late 60ies just after Larry was in the Navy. A bunch of us (including Larry and me) moved to San Fran and lived there for about 2 years. I moved to Takilma in 1970 and Larry came to visit and stayed around. The rest is history. Larry and I shared many stories particularly in N.O. & San Fran. Larry, rest in peace. RC

So sorry to hear about Larry. I still remember him as a kid although I would of loved to have seen him in our later years. When I had the Nelson reunion he was unable to come. Our prayers are with you.
