Beatrice (Aunt Bea) Carter Klein was born May 24th 1914 in Edmonton, KY. She passed away on April 19th, 2011 in Newburgh, IN, at age 96. Aunt Bea was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Klein in July of 2007, her parents Milton & Bertha (Romines) Carter, brothers Layton and Ledford Carter, and sisters, Pearl Cooper Watson, Francis Downs and Mawrie Bergadine. Aunt Bea was the valedictorian of her high school class and returned to school to achieve her dream and received her degree from Southeastern Illinois College after her retirement at the age of 64. Aunt Bea dedicated her life to the Lord as a young lady and spent her life serving him in various ways. She began her journey living and working on the Gospel of the Kingdom Campground in Shepherdsville, KY. She later moved to Eldorado, IL with her husband Dan and worked for many years at Gospel Assembly Church in Eldorado as the three & four year old Children's Director, before retiring to Evansville and attending the Gospel Assembly Church on Fuquay Road. Although Aunt Bea never had biological children, she was a true Mother to many in need. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and great great great nieces and nephews too numerous to mention from Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio and Iowa who all thought she was indeed a Great Great Great Aunt, and locally by her niece Sheila and husband Mick Brothers, who considered Aunt Bea as her Mother. The family of Aunt Bea wishes to express their extreme gratitude to Hospice for their kindness and care, to the excellent staff of Newburgh Health Care and to the Baker Family. Visitation will be held at noon Friday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714 with funeral services following at 1 PM. Services will be officiated by her nephews Rev. Dan Baer and Rev. Jesse Orbano. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery Aunt Bea was selfless, committed to caring for those less fortunate, and always full of compassion for anyone in need. She could never see human suffering without helping in some way. Her life was an example to those who knew her. Aunt Bea was pure in heart.
